So we ate some lunch and took a break before heading out to look for that cull ram. We had saw the group he was with heading toward a place they like to bed down in midday. As we were driving over there we found them again. It was pretty thick stuff so we just sat and watched for a bit. That ram was in with them so we made a plan and the staulk was on. We were able to get about 80 or so yards by no shot. They were all balled up and no way to get a clear shot. After 10 min or so they went over the hill and were gone. It's pretty thick and though they were moving we couldn't see them. I had an idea of where they were going, a place they like to drop down off the canyon at. We cautiously made our way to that area but they weren't there. I stood there scratching my head for a bit wondering where in the hell they went. I thought maybe they had found a place to hole up in the brush between where we were and where we last saw them. We started back tracking. We are checking a bunch of secondary draws when way across the canyon I see movement. I look back over there with my binos and there they are. They had given us the slip and were already across the canyon on the other side about a 1/4 mile from where I thought they would cross. I thought maybe we could get up to the canyon edge and get a cross canyon shot but no such luck. They spooked and took off for the other side of the property.

We hiked back to the pickup and made a big loop back around to the other side of the canyon. We were trying to figure out where the other herd of sheep went when Bob saw something in a draw south of the field we were on. We stopped the truck and glassed. It was a Corsican but a big one. We got out after cutting some distance off and stalked up. I thought maybe the other herd had joined up with this ram. As we got to about 100 yards we saw another sheep standing below the first. This sheep was an absolute monster of a Corsican. We talked about this ram for a bit and bob had me put up the sticks so he could get a better look. We were in a bit of a depression that feeds into a big draw the other side of where the sheep were standing about three quarters the way up. We discussed the sheep and all the sudden the Creedmore barks and the sheep drops. Excellent shot but scared the bejesus out of me. I started to laugh and Bob said the best way to make a decision sometimes is to pull the trigger. We located the ram which was by far the biggest we have killed off of my ranch.

Just an absolute toad of a ram. We took him back and got every thing ready for the taxidermist.
I would like to thank @ActionBob for a great weekend. I had an absolute blast and am really looking forward to get to hunt with him again.

Erik thanks for filing the nice report! I had a great time and really enjoyed meeting you, Mrs. Gizmo, Gizmette and Giz Jr. You have a great family and wonderful home.

That Corsican was just too damned impressive to pass. Yea the sensible thing would have been to shoot that big black one and add the cull Corsican, but I just was not feeling it? The black that is.... And like my middle brother says, "we didn't get this far by doing sensible stuff"! Besides, perhaps some other AH member can go take Erik up on that cull deal. I would have been more than happy with him.... Except for this guy showing up!

Folks Erik has a true little piece of Heaven out there! The work that has gone into the lodge and associalted facilities is impressive! This would be a great place to line up some sort of AH get together.

I have got to get back for a Rio Turkey and to shoot some pigs. And I'm hoping to line up a free range aoudad hunt with Erik, maybe a few other things.

Bob thank you, I had a hellava good time and I'm am really looking forward to doing it again sometime. I think I will post a cull hunt for that old ram here before too long.
