Just wondering what these are or what I bring. It was requested on my client info sheet. Are these blank tags that I put on my trophies. It says something about shipping instructions but I haven't pick a shipper or taxidermist yet. Just wondered what others have done. Lenny

Could be but no way to know for sure. I have used my own personalized tags in the past to help eliminate the possibility of confusion along the way. I suggest you reach out to your outfitter for clarification.

Normally they are from the place you pick to mount your stuff. Will have all shipping info on them plus your info.

The place you choose to import your things will also send you taxidermy tags (Coppersmith)

I'll bring some blank ones haven't decided on taxidermist yet. Always had my stuff go through Coppersmith at Dallas

If you are planning to just do the dip and pack where you are hunting and then ship your trophies back home, then talk with your local taxidermist. Typically, they will tell you to ship the trophies to the tannery they use. The tannery has to have the proper import license, etc. My taxidermist gave me a bunch of tags.

My taxidermist in the states made them up for me. He laminated his bright orange business card on one side and my name and contact info on the other side. He also gave me the zip ties to go with them. I gave them all to the outfitter when I arrived in SA to attach to each of my trophy's. That way they don't get mixed up in the skinning shed with other clients trophy's or at the SA dip and pack.

I will bring some blank ones. I'll decide what I want to do with the trophies after the hunt. I may even do a skull mount just depends on the animals. Leave my options open for a while.

Just remember to take enough. Need a tags for Horns, skull, cape, and back skin for each animal. Even if you don't keep everything, it's still better to have to many tags than not enough tags...

Taxidermist usually does this for me.

If I was you I would have it all planned out once the trophies get back here to the states especially the taxidermist even if you don't know what you are planning on doing with them. Once you see the cost associated with the mounts it just may change your mind on what you are going to have done with them in Africa.

My taxidermist and importer SSI sent me lamanated tags for all my trophies and on the tags it had my taxidermist name and address and the tannery's name and address along with SSI's information. I had a total of 4 tags for each animal that I took. Horns, skull, cape, and for the back skin. I thought that I had more than I needed but I ended up using all but 2 of the tags that I took over with me.

Check in details with your Outfitter. It varies, depending on the arrangement of the outfitter.
Identification is the backbone of trophy control, therefore, you want to ensure how your outfitter will mark your trophy parts. It is essential to clarify it in advance if you have concerns on it.

Just wanted to say thanks for the excellent customer service. Ordered some 9.3x62 brass and the delivery was a little short. An email through your website Contact Us link was replied to the next day with the tracking info for the correction. Good pricing coupled with great customer service will see returning customers every time. Thanks again!
