Think I've finally found a hunting load for the .44 mag leveraction

I got these 180gr HP for my 44 Super Black Hawk from another South African company. (Kriek Bullets)

So yesterday I got bored and turned them into a 260gr Bonded Bullet.
Will test them into wetpacks this weekend and see how they perform.

Well folks,

After a fair bit of trying, think I have an OK hunting load for the .44 mag.

Vihtavouri N110 powder
Magtech Large Pistol Primer
Nosler JSP 240gr

The below is just a 4 shot group from the ladder and I reckon the top right is a pull.

Only 50 yds but I reckon a place to investigate further. Decided to ditch H110 as think really needs a magnum pistol primer and they aren't the easiest of things to find where I am and I was getting very sooty cases with H110 and usually 2 "groups" when I shot, split by elevation.

I will load up some more with that charge weight and report back.

Scrummy
some of those look like wadcutter hits--a really hard cast wadcutter would be an awesome performer...oh wait didn't see those were stick-ons

Wowser, looks a fun idea. Bet if you load those up you are aware they have gone off... ;)

I shoot a very similar design bullet.

Which is a 250gr solid copper flat point at 1300 fps. So doubt that these should feel much different.

Here's a photo of Tony receiving that Shaw & Hunter award at the 1970 annual EAPHA Dinner Dance. Tony Dyer, then EAPHA President and Princess (Sunny) von Auersperg presented it. I also attended the event.

Good Afternoon,
How firm are you on your Dakota 416? I am highly interested but looking at a few different guns currently.

Best,
BJ

What is the minimum you would take.
