Sunglasses for hunting

...Three suggestions:

Decot Hy-Wyd, Zeiss Radians, and Randolph Ranger.

Each of these brands have flexible earpieces that fit over the ear to keep them secured. They also have lenses of various color from which to choose.

Back in the day I shot a lot of skeet and had utilized shooting glasses from the three listed. Of the three, I ultimately chose Randolph Ranger. Not because the other two were inferior, but for some reason, the Randolph's seemed to fit me better.

Purchase the best you can afford, your eyes will thank you.

I've worn Oakley M-frames for years in IPSC & USPSA competition and they have saved my eyes more than once, especially shooting stages with steel targets. I have for 30 years worn them every day and wear them in Africa. Use the very dark grey and on overcast days or evening switch to a light enhancing very pale rose to brown tint. Always have a spare pair in my pack. They have saved my eyes in the dense thorns. Nothing worse than a corneal abrasion to run a hunt! The Oakley lenses are specially treated to prevent reflection (a requirement for our military troops)
Wore Decots in my Trap shooting days.

Sunglass Outfitters in Bass Pro stores sells a bunch that would fit your need

I’m very fair skinned and light eyed. Bright sun is a real challenge for me and wears my eyes out.

I’ve always struggled with finding sunglasses that aren’t reflective so they spook game. I agree just suffer the bright sun because I’m worried about the reflection. I once had a super cheap pair made for turkey hunting where the lenses were camo but of course they broke.

So what sunglasses are you using that tent super reflective. Brand and model reconditions appreciated.
I bought some WileyX sunglasses on a whim a while back and find them to be the best for me. They have some branded ones with Hunting sponsors such as Leupold etc.

I have bad eye sight so I have always bought ones with automatic change due to brightness of light along with merged bifocals in Oakley Brand. love em

I like the newer Leuoplds that are ballistic rated and give good wrap around coverage. The polarization is pretty good too.

I wore a pair of Ray Ban Justin’s prescription sunglasses with a rubbery feel to the frames that stick to your head while sweating bullets lol.

Never used one while hunting. Do they not interfere while shooting etc?

I always felt one should wear what feels like there is nothing on their face and makes your eyes the happiest capped off with a brimmed hat.

I dont think in so doing that I was ever at a disadvantage unless I was turkey or waterfowl hunting. Those buggers will spook/flair from anything not normally in nature.

Clearly (pun intended) the worst choice for shielding the eyes is clip-on sunglasses. Adding an extra thickness to see through when hunting won't help. Definitely a hindrance!

For shotgun, I use aviator style glasses by my shooting glass company as Gatorz are not designed to be looking up.
Can you please explain why they are not designed to be looking up?

They are not high like the aviator glasses on the other picture, so when I am looking up not only the frame blocks your sight, you also end up looking partially over the frame. Great for shooting a pistol or a rifle, just need more surface area for shotgun shooting angles.

Hunters HD Gold.
I had forgotten the name of the company. They are the ones that provide the replacement lenses for my Gatorz and whose aviator style shooting glasses I use for shotgun. My girlfriend uses their glasses for sporting clays as well.

Hunters HD Gold is a huge supporter of the shooting industry. Both competition and hunting events. I live about an hour and a half from their facility. At Brian the owners invite I stopped in for a tour. Very impressive facility. I can say that these glasses whether they are prescription lenses or regular lenses are all made at the same production area from start to finish.

Rayban frame with polarized, brown lenses worked well for me.

For most hunting I use Oakley Flak 2's, which is what I mostly wear for everything else too. The everything else pairs are mirrored, but for hunting I found a pair with non-mirrored polarized brown lenses. I like them because they wrap around but are still fairly small and well ventilated so they don't fog up easily. They also stay in place well without needing any sort of leash, strap, etc.

When I sit in a tree stand in the cold I use a pair of Wiley X's with a removable foam gasket. I think they're the Boss model. Mine were a clearance buy and are camo frames. They came with gold mirrored lenses which I replaced with non-mirrored photochromatic polarized lenses that transition from orange to gray. They do a great job of blocking the wind but they'll definitely fog up if I'm active and get even a little warm.

Yeah, I met Brian for the first time when I was competing at USPSA Nationals some years ago. What also impressed me was that at the time he just sent me the glasses and told me to pay afterwards, if I was happy with them.

Dillon Optics anti-reflective. You can get prescription lenses also. The frame I like is the George. Wear daily, including shooting. Absloutly the best.

Xpedition Archery USED Scrapeline390X Sniper Gray Crossbow XACW1001 - Light Wear - Needs Bolt/Arrow Guide Spring UA5689

If it is in a decent shape, would you be willing to sell it for $100 shipped? IS it missing the retention spring that goes over the bolt?
Thank you Ferenc
