Stock fit

My cousin just bought a browning abolt ot came in a Boyd’s varmit thumb hole stock.
It also came with the original.
A Zeiss conquest scope.
It’s in 300. Any way he got the rifle for the scope.

The surprise was how well even off hand that that the rife settled in and the cross hair did not move.
He like me doesn’t like 300 but is thinking of giving the set up a try.

I am thinking of getting a stock like that but for my j9.
I know they are different rifles and will balance somewhat differently.
But do you think the stock will still settle in bacilly the same.

I really like the way it did and felt.
But I don’t think you can shoot it left handed.
I am not a lefty any more but can still shoot lefty if I need to.

What do y’all think?

I have several Boyd’s thumbhole stocked rifles and like how they fit, my culling 223 has one and it’s used nearly daily, you can shoot right handed rifles left handed but they are uncomfortable to do so.
Also 300 what? 300 rook, 300 rum , H&H?

300 wsm
I was left handed but took a bullet into the upper arm and had a lot of nerve damage and really could not do much with it for a few years.
So learn to be right handed.
The way that stock is I don’t see being able to get a grip right with the thumb hole but I didn’t try it.

And you can’t get a good grip as such using it the opposite way to its design, it’s more of a "only if you have to " scenario
