Some Hard To Find Brass Available

If you are losing 75% reloading 9.3X80 you are doing something very wrong.
That's what I initially thought also. They split down the side, even when I was fire forming them with trail boss and tissue paper wad.
The brass was very hard and brittle down the entire length, even after annealing

Received the brass yesterday. Initial inspection looks pretty good, a couple of the boxes look older and have a little bit of discoloration, although most of that is just the top layer in the boxes. It does appear to have been anealed from the factory. I have not got to get it all out and inspect all the flash holes and such yet, but the ones I did look at look good so far.

I think that most of the bad reputation amongst various calibers of Nitro guns can largely be attributed to two things: 1.) Non-standard vintage chambers, 2.) Overworking the brass.

I hear a lot of cursing about brass from all of the big guys: Bell, Quality, Bertram from people that were reloading "experts". Upon asking, they beam with pride about how they full length sized every case the second they got it. Yeah. That's bad.

If you really want good life, work up a mild load on fresh brass that has been bumped back zero to .001". Once fireformed, never bump more than .002". Anneal as you go. It should last a lifetime, especially if you're using a proper powder and proper regulating load. (proper load usually means IMR3031 reproducing original cordite properties loaded to original ICI/Kynoch load specifications)

Most heartache comes from way over throttling loads and overworking brass. Treat it correctly and it will work just fine killing everything including elephants.

Not sure your price range. Have a 375 H&H with a muzzle brake. Nice rifle only fired a few times. Also a Mossberg 375 Ruger its been used and shows a few hunts on it.
