South Africa, Ohio, Texas, Tennessee, Indiana, Mississippi, Louisiana, Maine, Alabama, Georgia, Washington, Wyoming,,, I am sure I missed one or two states.
I recently acquired a Pelican Vault. For years I have taken a Cabelas Bullet Proof gun case on my trips. With this being said the Cabelas case has survived many, many ground miles, air miles and baggage handlers. Maine to Texas, South Africa to Wyoming. Beat to hell and covered with stickers. After my last trip to SA I had to carry that case with 2 rifles “no wheels”, around 1/2 a mile. So, after a numb hand and a sore shoulder I decided on something with wheels.
Now, I want to add my own personal touch to the case with stickers but they won’t stick! Rough it up with sand paper?
Any good ideas?

You could try mixing up some epoxy smooth that over the area you want your stickers they should adhere to that.

The title of this thread greatly mislead me. I was expecting questions on how to stalk, clean and cook large seabird. And if a .458 WM would be too much.
Yeah - I'm not sure how you get a pelican to sit still long enough to put a sticker on it. Not sure I want to try. :ROFLMAO:
You might try a contact cement on each sticker and the case where it goes. it would fill in the bumps on the case.

I think sanding the spot you want stickers is going to be the most logical choice. I feel like every other idea is going to be a variation of different adhesives added to the sticker.

The pelicans beak can hold more than its belly can.
Fact !

I thought the title was intended to mean, "why do the Pelicans suck at basketball ". Btw @Hooked Now fry them, I heard they taste just like chicken. ;)

458 WM won’t nearly get the job done. Low case capacity and humidity near pelican habitat is gonna be shaking hands with danger

And I was thinking they are an Australian bird.
I don’t know the science behind the plastic but some plastics like PVC use a primer that I think etches the surface before using adhesive. I think it etches the plastic a little. But, I don’t know if the same works for stickers.

Zap A Gap for me has stuck to about anything you could try that as an adhesive to the back of your stickers.

You can try to clean the area with Dawn soap. This may be able to remove that finish that the Vault has when it's new. Then if they won't stick put them on with box sealing tape.
You will not have this problem after a few trips where the case gets dirty and scuffed.
This case will last you basically forever!

I’m just curious why your cabelas bulletproof case doesn’t have wheels and mine does?….lol

As for the stickers…it’s like a yeti cooler. Some will stick and some won’t.

I bought that case in 1997, maybe they weren’t putting in wheels then,,, I’m not sure.

Sorry, I should have been more specific! How fast does a swallow fly (Monty Python)? Lol, regardless, thanks for the tips!

Aside from fried pelican, pelican and grits, smoked pelican…
I ran into the same problem with an Eylar case. On other gun cases a Starlight and a Pelican I would put a band of duct tape around the case over the locks.
The tape will not stick to the new case.
Could be there is a release agent on the case.

So far so good but I haven’t had it out in a trip yet. I trimmed it out for my 6.5 and .375 and it looks great! I just hope it holds up to abuse like my old Cabelas case! On one trip the baggage chuckers beat it so bad I had to borrow a hammer from the SAP to beat a hasp back over to where I could get my lock off.

Hi Lance, Hope you well. I collect Mauser rifles and they are very much part of my cultural history in Africa. Would you consider selling the rifle now a year on ? I'd like to place it in my collection of Mauser rifles. Many thx

I saw where you hunted elephant with backcountry safaris in Zimbabwe.
Was looking to book an elephant hunt and wanted to know how your hunt went
and if you would recommend them.

Thanks
Mike
hi, do you know about lions hunters, leopard hunters, and crocodiles hunters of years 1930s-1950s
I'm new to Africa Hunting. I would like to purchase a Heym 450-400 double rifle. I'm left-handed but would prefer a non-canted gun. Is anyone in the community considering parting with theirs?
