Cartage to Port Elizabeth $100
Air Freight JNB to ORD $ 1832
Documentation Fee $275.00
Insurance $145.00

Total Freight 2352.00 (just a note the actual weight far exceeds the volumetric weigh, so additional freight charges were incurred)

Customs Clearance $400.00
Total to Broker $1052.25

Crates got bumped off of two flights in JNB then there was some sort of issue in ATL and crates sat there from 11/21-11/26 one day trip by truck up to ORD. They got there on 11/27 Crates were picked up on 12/3 and delivered to WIldlife Gallery on 12/6

Thanks for sharing. What type of mounts are you having TWG do?

Customs clearance $400?

Thanks for sharing.

If my mathing is correct, this far you are in it 5203.65?

Have you figured out what mounts you are going to do??

The costs are average and to be expected. Keep them in mind when planning your safari so you have enough to pay for the "back end" costs.

Yes the $400 is Broker fee. Yes Mekaniks your math is correct, I have a spread sheet with all costs to date, that I don't let my wife see!!!! Mounts, Hmmmmm well i have 7 month wait for the hides so plenty of time to decide, but so fat the Steenbuck is a gift to my taxidermist and she will be doing a life size mount. The zebra I would like to do a 3D portrait mount. Everything else will be either shoulder or wall pedastal. I am defenietly leaning to floor pedstal for the Eland, thats about the only way he's gonna fit in the house.
I've kept all of the back skins as well, thinking thro pillows. Eland backskin is being tanned as leather, will wait and see how much material I have before deciding on what to have made.

Figured I'd thro in my hunting partners shipping info as well.

Critters -- Blesbok, impala, black impala, Kudu, and Waterbuck

Crate info: 102 x 60 x 47 cm Actual weight 52kg Volumetric weight 48kg

All of his stuff was dip and pack as well
Total to Taxidermist $ 1054.00

Total Freight charges $1064.00

Total Brokerage fees I am assumong are probably the same as mine, I haven't seen them yet

Just got my shipping details for my trophys from June of this year.

Dip and pack for 2 cape buffalo, kudu, sable, and impala was $1146

Crate is 112x112x52 cm and 118 kg going from Johannesburg to Atlanta. Total shipping, documentation, insurance, etc via Safari Air Cargo Systems is $1710.24

Using Coppersmiths to clear customs, which will be another $1k or so once my crate arrives.

I'll say that all these expenses have been about what I expected and originally budgeted.

Excellent. Can’t wait to see the final mounts :D Beers:

Me too looking at July before hides are back. Then my taxidermist backlog is at least a year. I talked to her the other day and she is going to take [emoji637] or [emoji638] of mine when they get to her and push them to the front of the line. I’ll probably take two of my grandsons and have them fine so he can have them for Christmas next year.

good to hear another airline instead of Turkish Airlines is shipping any Big 5

Safari Air Cargo is just the shipping company exporting the crate. I assume they're going to contract with Turkish, but I haven't received the flight details yet. I agree it would be nice if other airlines would pick up the big 5

Looks like Wildlife GAllery Tannery has processed my crate. Horns have arrived at my taxidermist today.

I am righthanded, so not interested in the rifle, but I have a 375 RUM and 350 gr bullet loading data is very hard to come by. If you could reply with information regarding your loads I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you, Ray Boone, Leavenworth, WA
