Over the past two months I have been seeing many more scam websites and almost fell prey to one of them. Thought I would share with the community.

Was looking for powder and this site had H1000 in stock. Shock I was and immediately added it to the cart and tried to check out. They would not take a credit card. Only Venmo, Zelle, Bitcoin, or another cash app. I am embarrassed to say, i used zelle, which is connected to my bank of america account. Thank god the Bank stop the transfer as fraudulent. No return phone call etc etc.

Just thought I would let you all know. Hope it helps.

another shop I believe is a scam. Again only accepting bitcoin, zelle or cast app

Thanks for sharing. Check out Hodgdon’s website, they have a banner at the top about scam sites trying to appear like legit Hodgdon. I found one in a Google search (before knowing about the prevalence of these scams) and kept adding “in stock” powders to my cart. Each time thinking this is too good to be true. Eventually I decided it was too good to be true and just closed the web page without trying to checkout. That’s when I searched out the legit Hodgdon and saw their banner.

It’s a shame, but the real red flag to pay attention to is the only payment they accept is a no-recourse type of payment. Once it goes through, there’s nothing you can do to get your money back.

The ammo and component shortage has created an entire “industry“ trying to scam people. Im almost at the cynical conclusion that anything found in stock must be a scam. Lol

It takes very little skill to take a stock website template and start scamming.

Another way to check for a scam is to read reviews on the site. When they list customers names and locations from the US, but read like someone who doesn't understand English, scam.

Curious. Anyone know anything about Gun Warehouse? They have CZ 550 in 404 Jeffery’s for sale for just $2600. Seems a scam to me but could be wrong

I think it's a scam. All the scam websites have weird payment methods, like zelle or crypto.

If any site takes payment in zelle or bitcoin its 100% scam.

Also if legit places like Midway, cheaper than dirt, Natchez, ammotogo etc. Are out of stock and Bobstexasammodept.com has everything in stock it's a scam site. I've found a lot of them ammo hunting.

An efficient way in MY opinion if a site is a scam....The only way to pay is by Zelle, Vernmo, Crypto or a gift card ...that should tell you they are a scam operation. If you have no recall to dispute a claim such as a credit card it's a SCAM.
