They are nothing short of AMAZING!!

Gives the .375 H&H a good run for the money!!

I haven't but I'm interested lol, a few more psi will really wake up a round sometimes.

250 Barnes TTSX
65gr CFE223 - (I started at 61.5gr- 2524fps and worked up to 65.5- 2649fps all primers were round)
CCi 250
2629fps ES-10fps just over 1MOA

Currently, the 250 AB is my goto load at about 2715 fps. It shoots 0.44 MOA. That's from 70grs RL-17 and is not max. Max is 71 grs at 2760 fps and MOA. On the other hand, the 286 NP is no slouch either at 2622 and MOA from RL-17.

A "just for what it's worth" info bit:

Recently (April 27) I did my first test of the 320gr Woodleighs. I fired one of each starting at 61 to 66 grs RL-17. Up front, I'll say that all calculations had been previously done including QL. Here are the results:

1 - 61grs RL-17 = 2276 fps
2 - 62grs RL-17 = 2308 fps
3 - 63grs RL-17 = 2351 fps
4 - 64grs RL-17 = 2388 fps
5 - 65grs RL-17 = 2426 fps
6 - 66grs RL-17 = 2464 fps

*Add 10 fps for correction to muzzle.

Ambient temp was +5*C
Rifle: Tikka T3 Lite (22.4" barrel)
Primer: WLRM
Case:Hornady
COL = 3.37"


Just some instances of it being jazzes up to 60k psi.

2.5 was the only contour they offered in 9.3x62. Kind of heavy but not bad.

That’s really good velocity you’re getting there!! Where did you get the ER Shaw barrel? I’ve tried to find them, but they’re sold out, or it’ll take 3 - 6 months for them to fit one on a rifle.
I want to flatten some wild hogs around here, and doing it with one shot sounds really fun to me, especially using the 9.3x62 to do it.

Ok I seen that 2.5 first when I was looking on there sight did not know t hats the only one tho. I need to call and see the wait time is, I can get 20% off so it will be over a $100 less then the lw barrels.

Never had a Shaw barrel that didn’t shoot.

Direct from Shaw. I ordered it in February of 2020. Took about 6 weeks to get it. I’ve had many Shaw barrels and they’ve all shot great.

I agree with the caliber!
As far as being ugly, it’s not as bad as some budget American rifles I’ve seen.
I think the Savage Axis line takes the cake in that department.

I nearly pulled the pin on a Sauer 100 Ceratech in 7mm-08 in the spring but hesitated just a little too long. When I went back to the shop she was gone.

That’s exactly right! Nobody gets dressed up to go out hunting.
Just like my rifle! Not flashy, or overly pretty, and I won’t have to worry about the finish or scratches when I’m out in the woods.
It’ll just do it’s job very well.

9.3x62 needs open sights at least for Africa....

Or at least a scope that will be 1.5-5x24mm so it can take advantage of the lower power settings for the up close stuff one may encounter.
