Well, i went ahead an ordered a Salient Canterbury knife to try out. Cost to me shipped to Kalifornia is about the same cost as my Randall Woodsman Black Micarta. So will see how it goes. An interesting side note is that Salient offers a Bespoke version of the Canterbury with exhibition quality Walnut, Hand checkered and hand engraved by a gentleman named Greg that worked for 10 years engraving for Purdey and does contract work for Rigby, William and Son and Watson Bros. Engraving whatever the customer desires. this information per their website. I dealt with Marc Engall, great guy to deal with by the way. His co-founder is Cameron McIntosh. The Bespoke model is some serious money as one would expect with all the handwork involved. I really love my Winkler Everycarry, the collaboration blade with Jason Knight. But unfortunately no longer in production. the Canterbury is a bit larger, full tang as well but with walnut scales. Something different to try.
I looked at the other makers above from SRvet (thanks again) and although they have some very nice knives of various styles and materials Emberleaf was the one with in stock Supply. The other Gentleman make incredible pieces and are priced accordingly along with really long backlogs. But they all make really beautiful knives.
