Hello everyone!

I just want to ask about your opinion about this ammo.
I use it for 2 years for every game.
I know that it makes its job perfectly.
And my Sako 85 SS loves it :)

But would it in Africa as well?

It has 3318 J on 100m and V0=800m/s

The true is that I was very surprised at the first time, after shooting 130kg wild boar. The bullet looks diferent than it was in catalogue :)

Any expirience?

Take care and have a safety hunts!

I am not familiar with this load and or bullet construction so I just did a little research. The source stated that for this bullet a softer nose was swaged onto a higher antimony base. At normal velocities and lightly constructed game the bullet performs similar to a cup and core bullet. Then it went on to say that on heavily constructed animals the bullet would fragment much like what you showed. Have you been able to recover the bullet or fragments from any other animal? If so what did they look like? It may be that the 130kg boar is a heavily constructed animal, if that is the case your bullet performed as expected.

thank you for the answer.
True, after that I did the same research, even wrote to the producer :)
answer was just like yours. I can admit that this boar was tough game.
I have one more bullet taken out of the roe which was shoot frontal into the neck. unfortunately bullet turned down and it was taken out from the back leg. it didn't look like cup&core, most part of a "tip" was lost. I thing all other game, like red stags (bulls and does), boars, fallow reeds and roes had exit holes.

From the picture you provided, this bullet does not appear to have a copper jacket. is that a correct observation?

This is my very limited experience. I have not used that bullet in Africa, and have shot only one animal over 400 kg with it. This large bodied Canadian elk. I used the 11,5g ID classic in my 7x64. shot was sideways into the chest. Range 80 M or so. Bullet appeared to completely penetrate the chest, and exit the far side. No heavy bone was hit, only one rib. Results were perfectly satisfactory. If you are concerned about bullet performance, perhaps you should consider switching to the RWS H mantel, a bullet that got very good reviews from former professional hunter Finn Aagard.

Thank you very much Sir for the answer.
Congratulations due to great Elk! Wonderful animal.
The common theory is true, that it is hard to live without heart :)
Nice shot!
I'm not concerned about the bullet performance due to my use. For me it works great with 15-22kg roedeers, 30-130kg wild boars and up to 170kg red stag bulls :)
Now I know that it also works with 400kg Elks :)
So I can suppose that plains game is also in sight of it.

Take care!

Xpedition Archery USED Scrapeline390X Sniper Gray Crossbow XACW1001 - Light Wear - Needs Bolt/Arrow Guide Spring UA5689

If it is in a decent shape, would you be willing to sell it for $100 shipped? IS it missing the retention spring that goes over the bolt?
Thank you Ferenc

Good morning John, I just read your setup procedure for the northstar duplicator ator. I found it very hand and I did learn some things. I have the same machine and I am having a problem i can not figure out and was hoping you could shed some light on the subject.
