A question to any and all – do you have a Ruger RSM which has been converted to .505 Gibbs? If so, can you send a few images of the feed rails, ramp and follower? I’m going to be doing the same later this year and was wanting to see how a few others have addressed these aspects. Based upon some preliminary work I am thinking that the rails, with two down, won’t require much work, if any. I am definitely going to need to lengthen the magazine and address the feed ramp when doing so. Further, the front receiver ring will need to be opened a bit to accept the Gibbs case. As for the follower, though, that might be able to remain stock.

Anyhow, just trying to think ahead and learn from others who have already walked the same path. Any information which can be shared would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

BTW, going to ultimately make a new bottom plate as per Rigby’s “coffin” style, so that she’ll take three down. If any are interested in one for their RSM, in the big Gibbs, I’ll do it up, no charge.

@CTDolan We should make this happen. I'll be home in a couple days and dig it out of the safe.

And I bought mine all ready done. So don't know what or how it was done. But we can compare to a 416 Rigby which is what I am told it started as... but I'm not so sure the barrel OD is not bigger. I'll have to measure. Or allow you to;)

@CTDolan....@ActionBob likes being needed....Me Too, but I am out of my playing field with a .505!!! But of course @Bullthrower338 will now say that I need a .505 also!!!

Had an excellent classifieds transaction with JoninCO. A truly honest and standup member. I wouldn't hesitate at all to deal with him again. Thanks, J!

Hi Lance, Hope you well. I collect Mauser rifles and they are very much part of my cultural history in Africa. Would you consider selling the rifle now a year on ? I'd like to place it in my collection of Mauser rifles. Many thx

I saw where you hunted elephant with backcountry safaris in Zimbabwe.
Was looking to book an elephant hunt and wanted to know how your hunt went
and if you would recommend them.

Thanks
Mike
hi, do you know about lions hunters, leopard hunters, and crocodiles hunters of years 1930s-1950s
I'm new to Africa Hunting. I would like to purchase a Heym 450-400 double rifle. I'm left-handed but would prefer a non-canted gun. Is anyone in the community considering parting with theirs?
