Recently purchased a 404J Rigby. Picked up a set of Talley QD mounts. Went to install them today and realized that the rear square bridge has to be drilled and tapped.

No one anywhere around me that I would trust to do something like that.

Any other suggestions as to scope mounting or do I just bite the proverbial bullett and find someone to ship the rifle to?

Thanks!

Wow, I am guessing that was $15-20,000 worth of steel and wood.

Kind of retarded that a gun that cost that much coin doesn't have a scope mount option.

Kind of like an F-150 not coming with axles.

I thought the single square bridge was often the PH type model and I intended for use with irons sights. I’m sure Rigby will comment as soon as it’s business hours in GMT about options in your scenario.

Or being upset you can’t tow a gooseneck with a Ford Maverick, or that a F350 dual axle is hard to park. I think the modern Rigby is quite astute in their products.

This is s a double square bridge.

A photo would help. Does it look like the upper left on below?

I'll take the Vortex scope cover you have listed in the Pay it Forward thread.
