Rigby Double

A few pics of my new (to me) Rigby in .470 NE. It was a totally accidental quirk that led me to this rifle, (and PaulB, whose friendship is just as important to me as this rifle is.) We were discussing a rising bite in an auction. He being a collector, me just wanting a nice double rifle. Long story short, he was willing to part with this beautiful rifle that more closely met my needs. Should you ever have a chance to deal with him, you will not find a more gracious and honest person. Mtn_Infantry, the barrels are 27 and 3/4, it weighs about 10.75 lbs, has ejectors, was built in 1905, according to Paul. Very recently refurbished by Rigby, with very little work needing to be done. That's about all the info I have, except for this recent target pic.

I’ll hopefully have her slightly younger sister in my hands in the very near future. 1909 Production, 28” barrels and a touch heavier

The lines of that double rifle, just absolutely perfect. The proportions are very esthetically pleasing. I find this often the case with boxlocks over sidelocks. Especially with that short fore-end.
