Rifle wait time woes

Finally rifle was done!!!! Heart did an incredible job!!! They made the new barrel look like the original barrel, they tapered barrel with boss where rear sight would have been. Jim said it took some work, the bedding and pillars are perfect, Cerokote is outstanding actually looks like real bluing and flawless. The wait was worth it!! Can’t say enough. Just got to shoot her nowView attachment 684112View attachment 684113
Beautiful Rifle, I had a .257Wby built with a Hart barrel and it was the most accurate rifle I’ve owned.

As far as the wait time….

I was quoted 6 weeks for my 404J conversion on a BRNO 602….. 2 years later I got back a box of parts from that lying drunk of a gun smith; and now I’m having it finished by Dennis Olson.

I’m 5 years total into it and still waiting

Working and delivery times are an international problem by gunmakers and if they give you a time, it is often better to double or even triple it. If it's the little gunmaker workshop around the corner, it can sometimes go faster, but anything with a more well-known name has waiting times. The gunsmith who built my rifle caliber 500 Schüler initially promised delivery in 3 to 6 months.The rifle was delivered after 2 years. That was just one personal example, but I could give more. Years ago, Hartmann & Weiss is said to have had waiting times of up to 6 years for the building of a rifle. But one know something like that in advance and what ultimately counts is the quality of the work that is delivered.
I love hearing of the Schuler cartridges (stolen after wars
and renamed by English firms!)

*Which lying drunk gunsmith are you referring to???

My longest waiting time on a gun so far is just above 10 months but the maker sent me progress pictures regularly, that however just seemed to make the wait seem longer :giggle:
What's shaking, .. in the works???

@C.W. Richter

Dan Pedersen - Classic barrel and Gunworks of Prescott Arizona; in the end he showed his true colors when he got drunk and shot up his own house….. with his wife inside!
