I will be traveling to Saskatchewan in late May for a Bear hunt. Does anyone have a recommendation for a hotel that caters to hunters in Edmonton Alberta? Ideally one that has a freezer for storing bear meat. My outfitter recommended several in Saskatoon but I am flying into Edmonton to have a direct flight to reduce chances of last luggage and firearms.

Coast Nisku Inn is the place you want. Only 5 min from the airport with shuttles, good food, nice bar and lots of other bear hunters.

Thank you!

I would have recommend the Hotel MacDonald. However, I am fairly sure that they don't have a freezer for bear meat.

II believe that it would be easier to source a local butcher who can handle bear meat and let him freeze it.

I doubt that you'll find a hotel that can do it.

The Nisku has a big freezer. I’ve never had a bear in there but have had quite a few deer in there over the years without any problems.

What outfitter will you be hunting with? I am also going this spring to Saskatchewan.

Thank you so much. I emailed and they confirmed and I am booked!

As a tip, if you have an early morning return flight, (which is when most hunters want to fly out and the hotel staff is at it's minimum) make sure you allow some extra time to collect from the freezer. Upon checking out, I went to collect my 2 bears and was surprised to find so many other hunters doing the same. It didn't take too long but I was a little nervous I'd miss my flight.

Good morning,
Did you hunt w Leeuwkop at their ranch or in Zimbabwe? The ranch looks awesome, but I'll be in Zimbabwe for buffalo and whatever else we dig up.
What did you hunt for?
Vaccines?
What rifle did you use?
I feel like I need a good cotton safari shirt and an ammo belt to make the hunt feel right!
How often did you shoot prior to going?
Did you use sticks for shooting practice?
