Problems with TCI Taxidermist

TCI has typically a good reputation but I have to say the simplicity of my Dalton & York Cape Buffalo Euro Mount has been very disappointing. It is now going on 17 months and I still do not have any idea when I will finally be receiving it despite paying all fees and even transport. I love Dalton & York but you might want to redirect their Taxidermist recommendation from TCI

Reading of issues including ridiculous fees/charges and wait times is really discouraging for those wanting to get some trophies home.

And it takes away from some of the joy we as client get out of these trips; did for me anyway.

I consider myself lucky to be able to just take pics and forego the whole process last couple hunts, but I already have a pile of taxidermy so thats easy for me to say. (I also regret having spent the money on it, but thats another topic)

You may be right. fortunately I have taken great pictures. How hard is it to do a simple euro mount just one? Little communication and never ever use Maple Shipping. It teaches us to pay careful attention to every detail or you will be disappointed. For those that know me “this is not my first rodeo”. To say I am disappointed is an extreme understatement

Perhaps, but I would expect D &Y to intercede on your behalf.

They will be at DSC and SCI in 2025 if you are attending those

I just received an email from them this AM. that my Buffalo leather is back from the tannery from my June hunt. And they are now starting to make the gun slips and products from the leather.

Thanks Dalton for your help! If I did something to cause a delay I will gladly accept that and mia colpa!!! After TCI’s handoff to Maple Freight after being told by TCI it was packed and ready for shipment in May it’s now December and that’s what I am struggling to understand why it has not arrived

I have also not received my trophies and my hunt was right after Rare Breed. My crate has been waiting for shipment to joburg since august. TCI has never been an issue and very responsive, maple freight is where the hold up is. I have reached out to Dalton but it seems hes still waiting on a response from Maple Freight.

This is my first shipment from Africa ever so my anxiety about getting my trophies home has been in overdrive.
