Politics

Please tell me the moral compasses that are being trampled by Trump policies like:

-- Immigration law enforcement.
-- Tax cuts
-- Pro 2A policies (I know, being Canadian that is not quite comprehendible for you)
-- Pro business economic policies
etc. etc.

I personally don't care about his being uncouth or whether he cheated on his wife etc., etc.. I look at what he is accomplishing as POTUS. He was not elected for being likable or nice.

PS. Playing the Hitler card usually means one can not make a case for his viewpoint.
I'm a US citizen as well as Canadian. Pardon my ignorance but could you take a moment and tell me what is "2A policy"?

Supporting the 2nd Amendment. A most recent example is the firearms export rules which as a hunter traveling overseas beneficial to most as we won't need an export permit etc. and just will need form 4457.

From Trump announcement:
And Americans temporarily traveling overseas with their own guns and ammunition won’t have to register them in a government database or deal with the complexities of completing lengthy forms in commercial exporting software.
PS. You did not explain the morally wrong Trump policies.

It's interesting to observe that there are those whom have a positive view of scientific wildlife management in Africa can also be such morons with regard to social issues. I guess all heir brain potential was spent on the natural sciences.

Sorry @Tanks, but I did not say "moral policies" I said "moral compass". There is a difference... but once a conversation has degerated to the point where name calling and insults begin, it is only going one direction, (@Ray B ) and I am not interested in continuing.
Regards, Rick.

Well, I judge Trump by what his administration does, not by how he goes about it. I am pretty pragmatic about it. Also, morality is fluid, heck in some countries marrying 10 year olds is considered moral in their particular culture whereas others would find it abhorrent.

Looking at the Democratic candidates and their policies I'll take Trump with all his warts over any of those other guys/gals. They'd be a disaster for the economy and the country, don't believe me? Run the numbers.

I not running no stinking numbers. But I bet we could have a beer together round a campfire and laugh about this.

I suspect part of the reaction against Trump happened with his initial rise. There was so much apparant stirring up of hate. I don't believe outsiders appreciate how much frustration there was in the US with the previous governments. The uncorking of that emotion was shocking to many of us. Unfortunately, there were some who took that to far and it appeared Trump was leveraging racial tensions to secure power. I am still not sure it wasn't in his plan somewhere. I worked with a lawyer for a long time who would say the most offensive stuff, but he did it as a form of radar, or distraction. Its definitely a technique. On a national scale it has ramifications that lead to real tragedy. That is the biggest PR problem he has. It's a part of the scene that I have a lot of trouble with.

From what I read here, the previous democratic governments alienated Republicans in a way not experienced before. I think that is the foundation of Trumps success. But, along with it came some forms of hate that tarred his reputation. And, he plays the lout. To focus on the latter is disingenuous, because you don't rise to the top of politics without being aggressive in some manner, that's for sure. We just excuse it in "our guy" whomever that may be.

I personally really like the policies that I am aware of, so I keep trying to figure out the real Trump.

Solid observations!

For me, I can boil Trump down very simply.

He's an obnoxious man who does what he say and gets results.

Almost every other politician smiles, panders, and promises, while doing nothing they promise and enriching themselves.

I laugh when I hear someone say that I have no moral compass because I voted for Trump, and yet they support Clinton, Biden, Warren, Sanders, Trudeau , etc. There is a big fall from that moral high ground.

So.... I support the President who has had more of a positive impact on our country in the last three years than we have perhaps seen in the last 40 years, both sides combined.

They hate Trump, and convince their supporters to hate Trump because they fear him and the change to their luxurious world that he brings.

Good thoughts. Let’s add one more prism.

What if a few thousand American leaders were corrupt. What if they were spread across all industries, politics, business, media, entertainment, academia, etc. What if they had to maintain power to keep the lid on everything and to keep from going to prison?

What if an impossibility happened and Trump won. An outsider who would shine light on all the corruption.

What if the only chance to stay out of prison is to fight back. What if you have to try to continually show corruption and malfeasance against Trump to keep your monies and stay free. What if Mueller investigations and impeachment proceedings were your only hope. (Yes, there will be another attack soon.) What if your only chance is to blame Trump for what you were doing.

Insert this prism into the kaleidoscope and everything, including the opposition starts to make sense.

They never thought she would loose!!!

To @Wheels point, they impeached him for wanting information into if the previous regime was corrupt...when you have Biden on camera saying they would withhold aid if some prosecutor was not fired...

Looking at it another way, they literally impeached him because he was looking into their corruption!

I am confused by these proceedings. The Democrats have done a really half-baked job of requiring testimony. They could seek judicial intervention to force some issues, but they are mailing it in. Maybe they are in such disarray that they can't get their act together. Or, maybe they feel the end game is just creating talking points. Maybe they are more afraid of unseating Trump because it will take away the indignation they need to shore up their votes. Whatever it is, it's a show. Trump will win. They will blame non-cooperation to play to their base. Whether they could mount a proper prosecution I can't speculate. But, from my perspective they are doing a lousy job of it - purposefully or not.

It's purposeful on the part of the Dems and their lawyers. This was all part of the plan. To try to force the Senate into doing the work of the House. They knew they had a losing hand so they wanted to play it politically.

Example, all of the "subpoenas" issued in the House were issued through the intelligence committee and and therefore had no judicial standing. They were no different than if I said "I subpoena you for all your financial records." You'd just laugh at me like Trump did them.

They hoped that they'd either bully the Republicans into doing their dirty work, or that the people would think the Republicans were the ones not following the Constitution and vote against them. Ultimately, the goal is to get rid of Trump and return to the status quo of cronyism and corruption.

They way over played their hand and it's looking like they've failed miserably. They won't stop though. Their will be more before November and due to this it's looking more and more like an electorial landslide!

The Democrats know they can't beat Trump in November. The impeachment sham was designed to acommplish 4 things....

Make Trump look bad

Protect the Bidens

Create political distraction, and media chaos.

Force the Senate to look corrupt, and unconstitutional, in the hope that they can gain enough Senate seats to take control.

Democrats always cater to deceiving low information voters. Anyone with half a brain can see right through this impeachment sham. Trumps poll numbers, and support, have remained steady.

Cockroach, Adam Schiff, will slink back to his little dungeon of horrors, to fabricate more lies, and investigations. Anonymous whistleblowers, will be popping out of nowhere.

If Republicans can retake the house, I seriously hope they have the balls to give the Democrats a big taste of their own medicine. The problem is the old guard doesn't want to upset the staus quo. Washington's biggest problem. The swamp creatures.

That's what it was all about, to keep Trump from having anymore Supreme Court appointments. To them nothing else matters.

If and when that happens, it'll be all over but the crying for the Dems. They'll be relegated to nothing but shit starters for the next fifty years.

The House can vote to impeach. This takes a majority vote only. The House is controlled by Democrats. They used limited evidence assembled quickly to impeach. Realize this phone call between Trump and Ukraine took place the week after Mueller testified. At this point the Democrats knew that Mueller was a dead end.

Then the House is responsible to prosecute the impeachment in the Senate. The Senate would be like jurors. It takes 2/3rds of the Senators to kick the President out of office. There are basically 53 Republicans and 47 Democrats in the Senate. Unless there was overwhelming evidence, removing Trump from office would never have happened from the beginning of the proceedings in the House.

Barr is the Attorney General. He has investigations going on. In all likelihood, there will be a number of indictments coming down prior to the November 2020 election. This will effect everyone, but primarily the Obama Administration and individuals involved with it, including Biden. Realize that the "whistleblower" is involved in the corruption in Ukraine! Being a whistleblower is a way to get some protection. When he is indicted he will say this is retribution for him speaking out.

Schiff is trying to muddy up the waters. He was trying to get the Senate to call a never ending stream of witness' all the way up to the election. The Senate said no. You had the opportunity to do that in the House.

Schiff will have a new investigation coming up soon. The only chance is to try to dirty up Trump as much as possible and make him not seem legitimate to the American people. The problem with Mueller, Impeachment, and whatever comes next is there was never a crime. Everything is made up. That is why nothing is sticking.

Hope this helps. I realize that living in another country can sometimes be difficult understanding the intricacies of law and procedures.

Old bag Ginsburg needs to blow away within the next 5 years, and Trump can stack another on SCOTUS.

Leftists, will be foaming at the mouth, and we will witness another Democrat induced sham, and media frenzy.

Schiff continues to say that he doesn't know the whistleblower. He even said that this week as a House Manager.

Watch this 22 second video. The last part of the video I believe took place yesterday. The man in the beard is Eric Ciaramella, aka "The Whistleblower".
