Hopefully it will be swift and decisive!
Iran has been pissing on all their neighbors for 40+ years, kinda makes me wonder why they got rid of Sadam Husain and opened up that can of worms with the WOT .
He may have been a PIA but he kinda kept Shia radicals in check.

Yeah well similar to the post I put on couple days back...probably 50 pages on here ...where he said something to the effect yet again the talks were nearly over and the straight would be open in 2 or 3 days....asked opinions but didn't get any.....all i can repeat is my gut has better foresight than someone else's....and it says this is all not going to turn out ifor the best....and unfortunately will allow the regime to crow about coming out best....even if they have caused Iran to be fkd ....

But you forget, he coached Auburn football and that is indeed in Alabama and earned him lifetime residency.

Plus you only have to be a resident for 7 years, I went to Auburn so my math may not be the best but I believe 2018 was 8 years ago.

Its not good.. but its also a little bit misleading..

its true that there have been several MQ9A Reapers shot down and now there is a capability gap..

but.. the MQ9A Reaper has been out of production for some time.. so... other than pulling a few out of mothballs, backfilling with new MQ9A's has never been the plan..

The MQ9B Sky Guardian is now in production.. the problem there is production rates are slower than what is needed at the moment.. Similar name.. but a very different aircraft..

The US is already developing a replacement for the entire MQ9 family of drones.. its due to roll out and be operational no later than 2030... Im guessing they are accellerating that timeline now and we'll see them in 12-24 months... they have to backfill the reapers with something... no reason to do that with more sky guardians than originally ordered when there is a much better, much more capable replacement already in the works..

Drone warfare is also changing dramatically... while the original predator was an incredible tool when it first rolled out, and the reaper has performed its mission successfully for years now.. its pretty generally accepted that the methods and tactics where drones have been most successful in recent years are not heart of the envelope for a reaper..

"reaper" type drones will continue to serve a purpose moving forward for a little while.. but.. I honestly dont think it will be a long while..

much more stealthy and quieter drones are becoming more and more prevalent and can play a much bigger role..

I can only take so much of “ we’re close to a deal and the gas prices are going to drop like a rock” . If a deal isn’t reached soon he had best blow some important stuff up.
I felt back at the beginning of the cease fire and Iran was still launching missiles and drones we should’ve taken out a bridge for each missile launched.
The Iranians are masterful at drag assing and will prolong this out until some serious action is taken. IMO.

Gas prices are dropping pretty quickly around here (DFW metro)..

the Circle K across from the Scheels in The Colony was at $3.15 a gallon at 3AM this morning (was driving home from the airport and needed gas)...

Definitely not a pre-war prices yet... but.. also definitely below where gas was this time 3 years ago when Biden was in office (on this day in 2023 avg gas price in DFW was $3.23)..

I'd guess by the mid terms they'll be busting their assess to get it back below $3...

Iranians are gambling on Trump's risk averseness at this point ,with elections coming up. So, at the moment Trump is all hat no cattle unless he changes his ways.

To be honest I am disappointed, he keeps saying we are close to a deal and Iran in the meanwhile has not changed their position from day one.

At our local convenience store I saw gas at $3.58 today down from high of $4.35 a couple of weeks ago.
As @mdwest stated not pre-war prices but better than uncle Joe.

Sounds like Trump is putting Iran on "extra double secret probation" now....surely that will do the trick!

It begs the question, what qualifies someone to be a "resident" of a state?

Tommy's opponent is trying to paint him into a corner. If Tommy wasn't such an idiot, he would have at least claimed residency from March 2019 when he registered to vote in AL. I would love to see the mental gymnastics required on here to rationalize how he was a resident of the state of AL in Aug 2018, but a resident of FL in Nov 2018 (when he voted there), then back to an AL resident. All the while claiming a homestead exemption on a home he doesn't even own?

His opponents broader point is that Tommy lives in a $6M FL mansion, but is claiming a home in Auburn as his residence, that is owned by his wife and son...I mean, who among us hasn't left our "vacation home", driven 4+ hours to our "primary residence," (owned by someone else, not a trust or LLC) and then promptly checked ourselves into a hotel right down the street? Anyone with at least half a brain knows that they bought that home for their son (his name was on the deed originally, then Tommy got added a few years later), and are now using it to justify his residency for governor...rules for thee, but not for me!

You're all so focused on CA that when someone in your own party does something shady and illegal you don't even care. No republican was going to win CA, just like a democrat isn't going to win TX.
