Kellog is 50% on target, 50% clean miss.

He and others are finally stating clearly that we should be aiming for regime change, not just a degradation of Iran's capabilities. So far so good, even though there isn't a clear path to achieve that objective.

The part where he misses the mark is calling for the people of Iran to rise up against the IRGC. This is simply irresponsible.

Asking an unarmed population to rise up against a Government that needs little excuse to murder tens of thousands is downright foolhardy.

Guessing the US and Israel, along with many of the ME, won't agree to this:

That is an uninformed statement. I'll tell you a little secret. Both the EU and Canada will cave on the tariff dispute. They can't even afford to wait for a potentially hopeful (for them) outcome in November. They need the US market far more than the US needs them - in large part because of the protective tariff systems they have had in place since WWII. Meanwhile, the US was forced to find alternative markets. And here's another little secret - Canada is no more self-sufficient than Minnesota.

And there is some truth to the defense spending argument. Canada largely has done away with her military to free up discretionary money for social welfare spending. You can look up the decline in defense outlay dollars yourself. They have no real Navy (it has zero resupply capability), no meaningful Air Force, and the ground forces aren't even a shadow of what they were in the nineties much less the seventies when the Canadian armored brigade was the best in Europe. They have been able to do this because of the defense umbrella afforded by ……… that's right - their irritating neighbor to the south.
Like most Americans you do not know the real facts Canada supports America. you get 50% of your oil Dirt Cheap from Canada and Canada Supply California and most of the eastern states with electricity again at very cheap prices. So actually it's probably Canada that is being taken advantage of. And as far as our military is concerned yes thanks to the government it's in pretty sad shape but the Canadian military is always backed the US in every major conflict

Well that was a controller problem you donot clear a truck to cross runway with traffic on short final. crazy. guy must have been smoking something.
Latest reporting suggests some technical difficulties were involved as well.

just a thought on the poorly educated. pretty much everyone in america has access to a high school diploma. now if they skip school, become a gang member, quit, etc it is in fact their own problem for being poorly educated.

every american can get an ID if they want one, if they don't want to get one, that's ok, but i and 85% of all other americans do not want them to vote. seems reasonable that if you can't prove who you are, then why should you have a say in how this country is run?

finally, anyone buying a beer needs an ID, the bar is just not THAT high.
They dont even card me for bourbon or brandy. Dont know where you think you need an ID to buy a beer.

The statement was that one needed an ID to buy beer which is simply not true. You supporting that statement?

I still get carded, I believe state laws govern this, and this is the responsibility of the business. You not getting carded doesnt mean it isnt a law, doesnt make it right, and should be the golden standard for who we allow to vote.

Actually I will 100% support that statement.

I've been legally able to buy alcohol for over 20 years in the USA and I still get asked for my ID - Some stores even have a requirement to see ID for ANYONE regardless of age for buying tobacco.

Further if you head to a large city you will find that bars require ID to get in; firstly because of liability reduction and secondly because lots of vagrants and petty criminals do not have ID so it's an easy and 100% legal way to exclude them from your business.

I buy from the Oregon State licensed liquor store here in Saint Helens. Oregon on Columbia Blvd. The one place I have never been carded. I am 64 and dont look like a young punk. Maybe an asshole but not a punk.

No I dont agree with, "it should be the standard". Enough said.

Has anyone else noticed that since ICE was sent to airports that TSA lines are now at all time low for many major US cities?

I attribute this to .......
1. ICE is probably much more motivated to get the job done than TSA agents ever thought about being invested in their jobs.

2. Illegals use our airports on a regular basis for interior travel(Biden actually gave them free airline tickets); people assume that illegals travel around the nation of busses and while that may be true for the poorest ones, the visa overstays making good money travel by and won't take the chance of encountering ICE at the airport.

If you are not carded when you buy a beer, then you’re like me. An OOF. Obvious old fart.

Any place in Alabama no matter how old you look you will be carded.
Grocery store, convenience store or a bar, it makes no difference. I’ve even been checked when buying non-alcoholic beer to make fish batter with.

I can buy beer without providing an ID - I did not say where I bought it only that I could. The fact that you arent always carded and you never mentioned a bar in your earlier post or large cities, only buying a beer.

A lot of places I shop at require an id for alcohol an I’m 40 with gray on the sides of my head. Maybe it’s California but a lot of corporations these days have their checkers scan the back of everyone’s license just to avoid getting hassled by the authorities.

I mean, it makes sense over relying on your minimum wage checker’s judgment and possibly getting busted by abc agents.

Edit: I would say that’s the majority of places I buy alcohol from which tends to be bigger chains like BevMo or Costco which may be more fastidious in their compliance with the law.

When I have been in usa we have been asked for ID to buy any type of alcohol in numerous establishments....or even to enter the place....some no when they got to know us especially in reno at sci....as we got quite well known for some reason....over many years of going there.....:D Drunk::D Cheers::D Beers:.....and we all looked well older than your legal drinking age of 21 .....
