Why would I want to read the AH equivalent of the ladies of the VIEW TV show spewing hate of things they know little about? Sometimes you make a good point only to coat it with hate and insults toward anyone whose actions or policies you don't agree with. Most of your posts leave me thinking WTF is wrong with you? Did the USA and/or the US Army treat you so badly that you must disrespect both in nearly everything you share? I joined the Marines four years after you joined the Army. My first couple years were tough but that’s how Marines are made! I think good soldiers are developed much the same way.

As others posted, you fail to back up your opinions with any sources. Google or other search engines can be valuable tools to find multiple sources to validate your opinions. One should not need to advise a PhD of this. But, it seems we do. What's up with that?

On AH, I contribute with factual information, mostly technical in nature. When my posts are of my opinions, I state so. If one doesn’t want to read my posts, that’s fine with me. Put me on Ignore. On this Politics forum, I read and consider posts from both sides of the political aisle, that are worth reading. That includes almost all of them, except yours. Some others’ posts I read with a grain of salt but your hateful posts contribute nothing worth considering. Why would I devote the least amount of time to you and your posts?

Now, I try NOT to insult fellow members no matter how much they post to "stir the pot". If I would read more of your posts, I’d be often tempted to write something negative regarding you. Ignoring you is best for both of us. But, go ahead and stir the pot for those who enjoy taking your bait. If that is not your intent, quite frankly in my opinion, you need some serious help. You won’t find it being so gosh darn negative.

Regarding the shooting, Braden Langley on YouTube came up with a scenario that could explain it. I'm not able to post it here but I think it could be easily found.

Seems like a rational, possible, explanation as a negligent discharge. The video does emphasize that the Mr. Pretti had every right to carrying a concealed weapon to the event...which I agree. However, I have a problem with using that reasoning alone to carry a weapon to a protest. I have been a concealed carry instructor in Kansas since we started our state program in 2006. Our Kansas Attorney General at that time defined an 8 hour of instruction with a specified lesson plan including range qualification for students. I am also a certified instructor with the U.S.Concealed Carry Association and add some of their material to our classes. In particular, the use of deadly force..attached are two files.

What we stress to our students.....and most are not aware before taking the class: If you are armed and involved in a confrontation....(which can start as just an oral argument), if oral escalates and you do not disengage, you are likely to be defined by a prosecutor as not an innocent party. In Mr. Pretti's case, it appears he was actively escalating the situation by getting combative with ICE. If Pretti had used his firearm, he likely would have been charged with misuse of deadly force as he was not an innocent party. Keep in mind, even if he had been found not guilty of misuse of deadly force, civil prosecution by potential ICE victim's family could be initiated costing years of drawn out court hearings, lawyer fees, etc. Now, in Petti's case, this is all mute and meaningless to him.

I bring this up to anyone else who considers taking a concealed weapon to a protest....we have to keep our actions civil: worst case, dead..........next possible imprisonment, civil suit, thousands of dollars court costs, lawyer fees. My recommendation..........since I am usually armed in public, I personally avoid events like protests where escalation is a real possibility....with anyone.

Also, regarding deadly force justification rule #4.....in Kansas, we do have "Stand Your Ground" rule but my recommendation is always to retreat if possible. Use strong Situational Awareness and avoid, avoid, avoid! Keep your blood in your body, and your money in your accounts.

Yes....and #3 is always a questionable one. Our main rule we teach is deadly force is justified if you are in immediate threat of death or severe bodily injury. We note for #3, if you are prosecuted, the attorney will argue against you if you had another means to repel.....force continuum for LEO but "iffy" as applied to a civilian. And #4, we do not have to retreat in Kansas......we just advise to do so if at all possible. Also, no reasonable argument could be made by a prosecutor if retreat involved retreating to a dangerous alternative (such as crossing an Interstate highway.) Good point.

Number three as applied to senior citizens: (yes, I know we resist thinking WE are senior...) Isn't it true in many places, Texas included, that striking a senior citizen is a felony? Striking elderly people can result in falls, heads striking concrete, hospitalization for any number of resultant injuries, thus the law. Does it follow that danger of being viciously struck qualifies as threat of felony upon your person, and thereby validates use of deadly force? What if others are endangered by cretins if you are incapacitated by brawling, leading to abduction or rape?

Don't need to emigrate and establish citizenship. I've had US citizenship for 73 years ... since birth. I'm actually in Minneapolis fairly regularly for treatment at US VA Hospital. Twin Cities is not my cup of tea. Too many people. But the hospital folks are great.

I see. So a "fully trained" officer would shoot a disarmed man laying on the ground incapacitated from pepper spray ... eleven times? Where did the officer get that kind of training?! The officers clearly initiated the offensive behavior.The VA nurse attempted to offer assistance to two ladies who were pepper sprayed. He attempts to video the officer. Officer sprays the VA nurse with pepper spray. Then he's gang tackled. One of the goons hits him when he's down several times with what appears to be a can of pepper spray. Then the nurse's weapon is discovered, he is disarmed, then shot ... at least seven more times after he'd stopped moving. It was a frenzied mass assault. A fully trained officer reaches inside the car of a fleeing school mom and shoots her three more times after she fails to stop. Her car was barely moving. Clearly she's trying to leave SLOWLY, not turning her car into a weapon. Again, where did these thugs get that kind of training? Cracker Jacks police academy?

This is getting out of control. I knew this was going to be a big week, but the USA trading is fast closing in on overnight trading in Shanghai 12 hours earlier.

Something tells me this isn’t a short squeeze by Asia. This feels like an organic breakout based on raw material scarcity. This looks like a price discovery revaluation.

The correction will be equally violent. Very interesting times.

I added to my metals position during Covid and Quantitative Easing. I was wrong at the time. Metals didn’t respond the way I thought they would.

I have also posted the silver chart reminds me of 1979. The chart definitely reminds me of a short squeeze/blow off top.

There does seem to be a difference today. The Hunts were two good old boys making a big trade without the resources to hold the position. Today there is more demand from both industry and solvereigns. Industry needs the metals for products. Solvereigns tend to hold for longer periods than individuals.

Volatile markets have a way of moving further in both directions than traders generally expect. We are in the middle of an interesting ride.
