I am a supporter of most of Trumps policies. He’s trying to reverse dozens of catastrophic policies from the past at the same time. He is slowing our decent into mediocrity.

BUT! As I’ve said dozens of times. If Trump could set the policy and then be locked away. Or his mouth locked away. We would all be better for it. AND he would be more successful. I’ve never seen someone step on their own Dick so many times.

Or does he say the dumbest thing he can think of to direct the news cycle away from something he doesn’t like?

Saying Zelensky started this - irrespective of what you think of Zelensky - is beyond dumb. He just as well publicly say the sky is green. It sounds every bit as crazy. Red Legs is right: if Biden had said that exact thing, many on here would have been outraged. But instead his supporters try to explain it away or just ignore it. Saying something that is patently false should be decried no matter who says it. Somebody close to him needs to be saying "WTF are you talking about??" and call him out. And if he's doing it as some sort of misdirection, as you suggest, I find it grossly irresponsible, as the leader of the free world.

Has the US ever fought a peer nation. Not sure Japan qualifies, given then knew they were toast when they failed to catch the fleet in Pearl on day one.

Canada on the other hand didn't show up late for both world wars and had a large role in training US spies and special operations. We also haven't killed tens of millions of people invading countries by mistake, or whatever one calls the Gulf or Tonkin Incident.

The US has been basically robbing the world since 1974. Nice work if you can get it. Not sure it is morally superior to socialism particularly considering the stack of smouldering countries that seem to accumulate to preserve the Petro Dollar.

I don't blame the US as the cost of 80 years of relative peace is hard to calculate or know how it could have been done otherwise. But people aren't going to buy the BS either.

I would say Germany ITALY and Japan togather all at once would qualify a peer nation in war production materials and armies, especially since they had a head start.
Your second paragraph ,I get it ,about the Gulf of Tonkin, regardless though Fighting communism is never an un worthy causes in most any scenario, They are a very harsh task master to the human race.
Albeit Vietnam seems to have adjusted much better under their capitalism style. But theyre people as well as Cambodia paid a very deadly price.
Kudos to Canada they were represented well and earned respect in WWII.
AND AGAIN not sure what you're saying in para 3. China is working to develop its own style of world currency with other nations collectively, you approve? as Trump moves to a more western hemisphere of concern maybe Europe will rise up and do something great, but dont hold your breath.

FYI looking at the news footage, weapon shown appeared to be one of those Japanese made shotguns specifically for the Australian market to abide by rather silly regulations against pump action and semiautomatic shotguns.

I sadly fear this will only result in more OZ firearms “privileges” being restricted

I respectfully disagree. I think it is very important that the leader of the free world is able to accurately articulate details related to world events. Saying something that is patently false makes him look like he's either traveling down his own road of diminishing mental capacity, or worse trying to drag people in the direction of a false narrative for his own reasons.

To say that Ukraine started this is, in my mind, something akin to suggesting the Holocaust never happened. It will surely embolden Putin and confuse/frustrate our allies. The fact his supporters are willing to look the other way or nod in agreement is frightening.

I have no earthly idea what you are trying to say. On the other hand, I think I was pretty clear - I voted for him as the lesser of two evils. With respect to what I believe are our critical international interests, he sadly has been even worse than I expected.

I think you're right. At least the police shot the suspects. I don't think that would have happened in the UK. As far as I can tell, the government in the UK, Australia, NZ and Canada regards the death of a perpetrator is just as bad as the death.of a victim. While self defence is legal in these countries, actually injuring a criminal is illegal. As a result, they feel.free to disarm the citizens. Somebody from these countries that knows more about it can let us know if this view is incorrect.

Unfortunately, I see this trend happening in the US. Due to our constitution, it's just taking a little longer. No matter what continent we live on we need to stand up and demand that we have the right to defend our lives and the lives of others.
