Or stop voting with your emotions and putting weak people in office; I sincerely believe that Biden & Trudeau did more long lasting harm to our countries during their tenure than most of our adversaries could dream of.

Just look at the UK and EU...... Jesus it's sad!
I think the two go hand in hand. But I think the jury is still out on how Putin views Trump.

Just to be argumentative, your previous quote discussed the rule of law, this question asks if it is a good idea or bad idea. Regardless, if it is a good idea or bad idea, he has the legal authority to do it.
For sure. He does. You are correct.

There is no doubt the president has a great deal of power. But at the center of political discussion is the question of whether or not that exercise of power is being done well or not.

I am not suggesting what he did was illegal or unconstitutional. I am suggesting that some of his more recents pardons were bad choices and bad policy.

Just like up here in Canada I am fully aware that the handgun transfer ban passes constitutional muster. I still think it is very bad policy and a poor choice. But still legal.

Just because something is legal, does not make it effective or wise.

Well Putin damn sure didn't invade Ukraine under Trumps first presidency which I believe speaks volumes.

I further assert that if either Joe or Kamala were in office now, that China would have invaded Taiwan.

I'm not sure that logic will hold up to scrutiny.
Any social net, is paid out of taxing citizens or companies. The government has no money of its own.
Any dollar in tax, is a dollar that cannot be invested, or goods/services purchased with.

Basically, any social safety, is per definition going to limit growth and will therefore also limit success.

That being said, the question is where the line should be drawn.
How much growth or personal success are we as a society willing to exchange, in order to have some social safety net.
While certainly true to an extent, as you pointed out, there is a balance to be struck, and for me, I am far more tolerant of say income taxes than I am corporate taxes because I believe that a high corporate tax rate is that much more harmful to economic growth.

That was not what I was taught when I was serving and studying at a military college.

Nor is it what I learned studying the Law of Armed Combat in law school later.

Even if this was a ship load of SS concentration camp guards that got sunk, killing the survivors in the water if they have been rendered hors de combat would likely be a war crime.
A re-attack is very common practice if the desired outcome was not met on a deliberate strike……

If the survivors are hors de combat, do you think they are a legal target?

Obviously neither one of us has seen the full video of the attack, but it sounds like this one might have gone over the line.

Regarding the drug boats...

"You know how it goes, Jake. You ride with an outlaw, you die with an outlaw."

Maybe they were just trying to make it through the territory.

the Americans (Democrats) pushing the "Russian is bad" narrative and isolating Russia also contributed to Russia making the decision to invade (Author's point).
Well, the Republicans also have been pushing "Russia is bad" narrative since before I was born, and I am old. :ROFLMAO:
Both Putin and Trump are apex predators.. I think they have a healthy dose of respect for each other.. they just play very different games and have very different methods of hunting/killing..
I am not sure that Trump is an apex predator, more like a school bully against smaller opponents (e.g. Venezuela, Iran etc.). I lost count on number of times he has promised consequences against Russia and backed off. Ditto on a number of tariffs. He is not nicknamed TACO for nothing.

USSC will allow Texas to keep the redrawn congressional districts. Possibly giving the GOP up to 5 more seats.
If they will give a favorable ruling on the Louisiana case the 2026 midterms may not be the blood bath predicted.
Of course every state may start redrawing districts.

“TACO” is frankly stupid… anyone that believes his brash, bully, loud mouthed, etc personality also supports a “chicken” clearly isn’t paying attention or is desperate for something to bitch about…

Trump is a lot of less than desirable things… but what exactly does anyone think he is afraid of?

Telling Americas closest allies to get their shit together or face consequences?

Tell Americas closest trade partners to get their shit together or face consequences?

Is he afraid of Iran? Drug cartels? The media? DEI embracing leftists?

Is he worried about possibly saying the wrong thing out loud? Or maybe potentially offending someone with a rude comment or a mean tweet?

Who is it exactly that he has run from?

Making insane initial demands then relenting when the other side makes moves in the direction you want them to go and not continuing to make insane demands isn’t exactly the same thing as running scared…

The issue with Trump isn’t that he runs away from anything.. it’s that he runs wide open into shit, then changes direction mid negotiation…

Which, as has been stated a million times before, is nothing new… he learned it from his father, and had been consistently doing it since the 1970’s…

I’d say that since he turned his daddy’s NYC focused successful business into a global multi billion dollar empire, managed to get himself elected president twice.. has pushed Europe into participating in its own defense at an acceptable level for the first time in decades.. has pushed trade partners into positions that have improved the US economy both times he’s been in office… etc etc… that the evidence shows he is anything but “chicken”… chickens don’t engage in fights to begin with…

You don’t have to like the man… I personally don’t care for him much at all… but failing to recognize what he has done (and not done) and listening to disingenuous leftist tripe and democratic talking points is silly…

You can’t think he’s a bull in a china shop, reckless and uncontrollable, and at the same time think he’s nothing more than a mouse that roars… it’s one or the other… not either or at the time of your choosing…

Well said.

thanks for your reply bob , is it feasible to build a 444 on a P14/M17 , or is the no4 enfield easier to build? i know where i can buy a lothar walther barrel in 44, 1-38 twist , but i think with a barrel crown of .650" the profile is too light .
