Murkowski loves the "Turtle" and porkulous spending

Yeah this is a bunch of BS. You can do anything with statistics. You should know better! It’s a huge state and larger than the others on that list combined. It’s expensive to do anything across such vast distances and there are lots of Native American villages that are too dependent on social services but how is that Lisa’s fault? Ever been to South Dakota? New Mexico? Arizona? Lots of Native Americans dependent on the government and nobody seems to have a solution. As @WAB said, Alaska has provided a lot of oil, seafood, military bases, etc… to the rest of us as well. Alaska is a big net benefit to the USA.

We all have our lines in the sand. One of mine is abortion and being pro life. Murkowski's never going to be a choice I like, and I am always going to hope we get someone better; I had high hopes Tshibaka would upend her this year. Alas, she did not. For that matter I'd like to see Sullivan gone. I know he has support for his military background, but I want those who represent me to have a spine. I have emails from his office, to queries I have made, that indicate the opposite. As a conservative I'd like a do-over on all three currently serving my state.

If I were Bob Jorden, the CEO of Southwest Airlines, I’d be all over the news today demanding the FAA “do better.” Jorden has taken a lot of flack…..mostly warranted…for the fiasco earlier this month. This morning, the FAAs computer system (called the Notice to Air Missions system) that sends briefings/instructions to pilots of every flight crashed. Every departing flight was grounded until 9am ET. Ole Pete B sure is on his game! Supply chain shortages, clogged ports, trucker shortages, now this. Maybe a small-town mayor with no real world experience (besides working at McKinsey) wasn’t a good pick to run an important federal agency.
Typical commucrat logic. Grab the nearest asskisser and put him(her) in charge, regardless of their ignorance.

Looking at the social arrangements of various animals I see three different models. Some animals rely entirely on genetic code passing information on to offspring who on birth are completely on their own to survive. The individual has no reliance on nor obligation to its "family" of parents or siblings. Then there are animals that live entirely for their family- ants and bees come to mind. The individual is nothing, the community is everything. then there are several "higher" life forms that have developed societies where the individual has obligations to the community but has several freedoms to do things on its own. Various mammals are in this group with the primary obligation to the family being defense against aggressors but in some cases it also includes adults helping with the raising of young.

It seems to me that our politicians choose systems of government that follow the lines of the three options. At the Libertarian side everything is up to the individual with virtually no obligation to the group. the other side is the Communists, which as the name implies everything is for the Commune, the individual is nothing. The leader is the Queen Bee, everyone else (except the drones) are Worker Bees.
In between is what formerly was the political parties in the US- where the individual was primary with limited obligations to the group.
But over the last hundred years there has been a shift. we are no longer seen as individuals but merely parts of the collective on our way to becoming nothing more than a worker bee.

Ray, I think your analogy is pretty accurate. I don’t think most people understand what’s required of them to adopt a more communal arrangement. Namely, forking over ones liberty and autonomy in exchange for support from the hive. Two problems occur….first, for most, they won’t ever appreciate what they gave up because they never exercised their autonomy and reaped the benefits…in terms of hard dollar outcomes and the attendant psychic payoff in self esteem. For the rest, they won’t appreciate what they gave up until it’s too late. The hive never willingly returns liberty once it’s surrendered. As someone quoted earlier….you can vote yourself into socialism but your descendants will have to shoot their way out.

I have a 150 gal capacity propane system and I have two options:
Option 1: I can use the propane as the fuel for our gas range.
Option 2: I can use the propane to run my 9500 watt Onan generator and use the electricity if produces to operate our electric range.
Given the doctrine of Conservation of Mass and Energy option1 will provide the desired level of use while using less propane.

Any halfway intelligent person would see the advantage of using option 1- but WA States Senators are both candidates for stupidest politician of the year (actually also rans behind Bidet and his Cabinet) so I expect they will choose option 2.

Muslims in one parable: there was a scorpion wanting to cross a flooded river. He asked the frog to take him across and was flatly turned down--"you'll sting me if I let you on my back," he said.
I WILL NOT, said the scorpion--I will instead be appreciative that you took mercy on me.
Well, all aboard, but half way across, the scorpion stung him!
"Why did you do that, " asked the scorpion. "You PROMISED NOT TO STING ME!"
I couldn't help it, said the scorpion--it's just my nature...

Another of these short clips that can tell us a very great deal. It is currently 12 degrees F (-11 C) in Bakhmut with a high tomorrow of 21 F. Russian troops are poorly equipped for it. If you look closely, this soldier is clearly in an advanced stage of hypothermia. In an American unit, he would be an emergency evac case. It will get much colder.

I wonder of Barbarossa means anything to the Russians right about now.

Your gonna need more propane Ray! I had a 500 gallon tank when I was on propane back in the '90s. Oh, and at about $0.90 CENTS/gallon. LOL

Churchill said it best,"Those who give up liberty for security receive neither." Or words to that effect.

Phillip I was reviewing some of the auctions online and saw your Nubian Ibex hunt coming up this weekend. It also showed you have Addax and Axis deer. Is there a website I can go to and see the lodge, cost of animals and what is available? Thanks Mark

I really like that knife you're selling. It looks so similar to my original 1306 that has been around a long time. I can't spend that much but if you get to a point where you'd entertain offers let me know. Thx, James
