That load is very similar to mine. Might be something to the H4831 and the A Frames. They really shoot in my 470. You shooting a Kreighoff too?I only have one, so I guess that makes it my favorite. I’ve only concentrated on using softpoint and have not yet bothered with solids as I was preparing for buffalo.
Fed 215 primer, 109gr of H4831 behind a 500gr A-Frame results in about 2180fps in my rifle. This is using Hornady or Jamison brass and also using a Lee FCD that I had to special order. On average about an 1” +/- of space between left and right barrels at 50 yards. Left is always left and right is always right btw.
If interested in the FCD, Lee is still making them per order. @BnC 04 just received one in the last week or so.
I also tried North Fork bonded cores, but I could not get the accuracy that the A-Frames gave me. Probably accurate enough for buffalo distances, but I always go with the most accurate.

I need to order one of the Lee FCD.
Have you choreographed that H1000 load? I tried almost that same load and it shot good but was only getting around 1700fps.Serious
500 TSX over 103 gr H1000 & GM215M primers
Smaller game & practice
420 WFN-GC over 28 gr TB & same primers
Do you think the 1900's is generating enough energy, enough to open and get sufficient penetration?Backyardsniper.. I was running true to Barnes data in mid 1900s. Components and barrels vary. Those 2 loads happened to work particularly well for me. Both group great and in same vertical line. Just flip up the 150 sight for the reduced loads.
I think this powder is discontinued118.0 gr IMR 7977
Fed 215M
500 gr Swift A Frame
Isn't the RCBS seating die able to crimp as well?I only have one, so I guess that makes it my favorite. I’ve only concentrated on using softpoint and have not yet bothered with solids as I was preparing for buffalo.

Hornady seater for certain does, not sure about the RCBS. I just like the Lee as you can see the amount of crimp you’re getting and adjust easier in my opinion.Isn't the RCBS seating die able to crimp as well?
The RCBS does crimp, that's what I run, however it is easy to crush some shoulders when setting it up. I think the FCD may be a better option.Hornady seater for certain does, not sure about the RCBS.
