Pierre Van Der Walt’s African Dangerous Game Cartridges

Great addition to someone’s library.

Out of print, never to be reprinted per the publisher, and still factory sealed.

This is the seminal work on African large Bore cartridges. I suspect it will skyrocket in value in the coming years.

Never met ROOKHAWK, but do agree this book is a classic reference as to history and reloading. I first read it on line but realized I needed better definition for charts so purchase hard copy. IMHO it rates + with any book now or in the past on African cartridges as to history and reloading!

@Luvthunt thank you. I agree it is an amazing book. Truly a top-5 book related to Africa in anyone's library. According to the publisher, out of print and never to be published again.

Pierre Van Der Walt intends to do 4 books in the series. The first is the large bore book offered in this thread. The second is currently in-print and it is the small/medium bore book that sells for about $100 at safari press. I have no idea what the 3rd and 4th book will be but I'm speculating that one would be the "super bores" of 577 and up and the other would be the "tiny bores" of .177" to maybe .25 cal. TBD.

It's a hefty book in a college textbook hardback binding about 1.5" thick. It covers every single dangerous game cartridge in great detail along with ballistics, anecdotes, etc. Think of it as a much more attractive, far more complete version of Pandoro Taylor's "African Rifles and Cartridges." (another top-5 book every safari hunter should own)

Rookhawk … if your looking to invest long term, I know a place in Dallas with a store of these books still in plastic; …..

you could corner the market?

Something is clearly wrong in the publishing business, if a book is ”never to be reprinted” despite being a work of very high quality and in very high demand?

I have 7 hardback copy’s of “African dangerous games” passed down from someone never opened . If interested please let me know before I give them away

I have a Chapuis 450-400 double that looks brand new and shoots well, never been hunted from what I can tell. I am willing to part with it as I have a 375 H&H Sodia on it's way from Dorleac & Dorleac. I am looking for $9,250 for it and if you are interested, I am happy to send you some pictures. Regards,
Steve
