Do I need to carry my passport while in the field hunting in South Africa?

If you decide to leave your original passport at the main camp while you’re out in the bush take a copy of your passport with you in the bush. Make at least three copies of your passport; keep one with you, keep one in your home files, and leave one with your family. I contact the embassy of the country/countries I’m hunting and let them know my outfitter and in-country travel plans.

Great advice! Thanks!

No....and the answers above are correct and good advice...

Personally, I always take mine and keep it in a zippered pants pocket......And keep a copy in my gun case back at the lodge.

For all the African countries I’ve traveled, I leave it locked in my rifle case. I have a copy of all my pertinent ppw (passport, emergency contact, rifle permits, visa if required, invitation letter and flight info) folded into a 5x8” envelope and slid into my daypack. I also have photos of the same saved on my phone.

Noah,
I might be interested in the 470 Woodleigh Softs if the price is right for the entire lot. Are you planning on going to the Tulsa Gunshow in November? If so, perhaps we could meet up.
