Osa Johnson's 9.3x62

Thanks for clarifying. I just liked the video clip and its description said 9.3x62. I did not dig any further.

Not a problem. I'm happy that you got to see Osa in action! (y)

Cheers! Bob F. :D

OSA had bigger cahuna’s than most men.

She was one heck of a woman, that's for sure.

Nice rifle with an interesting provenance indeed!
Charles (Chas)Heyer was a German shop owner who specialised in outfitting safari’s in the golden era in East Africa. There are a few collectors who specifically collect rifles with his name on the barrel. He had Mauser and Manlicher mark the rifles he ordered with his name much like Army and Navy in England did.
After the Germans lost the war Herr Heyer had to close shop and move on.
It would be interesting to know if anyone members of AH have Heyer marked rifles and what caliber etc.
I have a 8x57 Manlicher African model from him and have seen .404 and 7x57’s
The 9.3 that OSA used is what we call the A type or E as mentioned elsewhere on the posts. This is because it was retailed in the British colonies. The b types were sent to the rural areas and German colonies such as Tanzania , Namibia etc. Heyer did order a few with Square bridge actions and scopes but these are hens teeth.

thanks for your reply bob , is it feasible to build a 444 on a P14/M17 , or is the no4 enfield easier to build? i know where i can buy a lothar walther barrel in 44, 1-38 twist , but i think with a barrel crown of .650" the profile is too light .
