Like good catholic high schoolers, three of us went to confession once a week. The main miscreant of the bunch went in first and it went something like this,
"Bless me father for I have sinned. I had carnal knowledge of three women".
The priest gasps, mutters something under his breath then asks
"Was it Mary McGilicuddy?"
He answers, "Father, I can't reveal any names".
Again the priest asks, "Was it Maria Cacciatore"?
Again the reply was "I can't tell."
A third time the priest asks, was it Elizabeth Brocinski?"
A third time the reply was " Father I just can't say".
The priest gives up, gives him absolution and he exits the confessional.
His buds are waiting for him in anticipation. "What did you get"? They ask.
He replies, "Two rosaries, six Our Fathers, ten Hail Marys and three good leads".
