Baseball bats on mailboxes is for amateur's. We used to blow them up with M-80's.

Oh for the days we could by M80’a at the corner store!

Back in the day, we had to drive down to Nogales, Mexico to get them. The other alternative was New Mexico.

In Canada we just got them at the corner store. Of course we also had a case of dynamite on the farm…

For “removing stumps” if you do it just right you can remove them to the neighbouring property’s or so I’m told.

I have no recollection of that event at this time…

When I was a boy we used a black powder gun to split logs. tree was cut into about 6 ft logs and the black powder gun filled and hammered into the end of the log, fuse inserted and lit. The log was supposed to split nicely into quarters but that was an exceptional rarity so there were some mighty interested results at times as there was no telling how the log would split or where the pieces would end up and if you had a stuborn log with lots of knots the log parts were apt to go any direction and for quite a distance. It was my job as a boy to collect up the bits that went a bit far. Really fun days they were.

Any thing like this @Von Gruff ?
The top one is an antique purchased at a friend’s estate sale. It was made from a wagon axle.
The other is my rendition in 304 stainless steel. I have not tried either out yet.
My stainless version has cross holes threaded to attach to a chain to slow down any recoil from the splitter.

Yes exactly like the top one and with the knurled over top to show how much it had been used.

So me and my son left town this evening to go on a turkey hunt. My wife and young daughter went out to her dads house for dinner. While there she found my wifes high school prom picture and was pissed. Here is a screen shot of the text she sent her brother from my wife’s phone. Nice to know she has my back

I have no idea the shipping cost from here to Costa Rica. I can do my research on shipping and get back with you later today.
