I have hunted down in Arizona for 26 years and have only seen one of them and all I had on me was a 44 mag with 240 grain soft points. I didn't have the heart to pull the trigger, all I would have seen would of been a puff of fur.

yes In the Canadian Arctic, the Inuit are issued a number of tags every year and sell the hunts as a way to subsidize there income.

What Bob Nelson telling unbelievable tales, no way.
Aussies wouldn't do that or warn backpackers of the dangers of camping where the notorious Dropbears dwell.

The first really obscure hunt to come to mind is whitetail deer in the Andes in Peru. Apparently very difficult and high elevation.

Yes you would as well as others. I was just listing the harder more obscure ones. You would also need the sloth bear and the asiatic black bear to complete the 8 bears of the world.

Is the sloth bear huntable? I was under the impression the remaining population was in India and covered under there wild life protection act? Perhaps @Major Khan can she’d some light I believe he’s hunted them.

You don't have to go to Alaska for that hunt. Utah has two totally wild bison hunts in the state.

The only problem is drawing the tag in either of them

So does AZ. Took a person I know 30 years to get his tag.

If you have the travelling spirit and an adventurous soul there are some incredible places and amazing animals to hunt.

Some that appeal to me include, but are not limited to;

Maral stag in Kazakstan.
Moose in Chukotka.
Bezoar Ibex in Turkey.
Red stag in Europe.
Mountain Caribou in Alaska.
Tahr in Nepal.
Markhor in Afganistan.
Giant Forest hog in CAR.

Most tags with the point system requires a commitment year after year. As multiple ex-wives can attest I have commitment issues , so if not OTC then I don't attempt to get a tag.

This is likely going to be my first international hunt. I am going to try for the world turkey slam.

I think this is a great choice for a hunt. Have you considered trying for Greater Currasow and Crested Guan? There used to be hunts offered for these 3 birds. I haven't looked into this for some time.

I started when it was just a random draw. Friends drew, relatives drew, school friends drew, everyone drew except for me.

Now I'm into the point game but I don't know for how much longer.

Good point. However a bison hunt in the Copper River Valley would be a wilderness hunt of the first order.

Don’t know if this counts but we can offer things such as Bongo, Mahrkor, kangaroo, and a whole slew over others here in Texas.
