New lipsey's ruger alaskan bush rifle in 9.3x62 and 35 whelen

I know its an RSI, that is what I stated, just bringing it to peoples attention as it is in calibre 9.3x62

im not finding ''low'' 30mm rings for this rifle. Not even from Alaskan arms .... ?

Shot mine in 9.3x62 with Lapua Match ammo today.

Shot a group that was slightly over one inch.

At 250 meters. Did not try to replicate this feat, but I am silly happy. Guns functions perfectly so kudos to Ruger and Lipseys.

The Alaska Arms set is specific for the Ruger M77 models and the set includes one medium and one low ring. Best rings I have found, what I put on my M77African 35 Whelen

I finally got some ammo today. Four boxes of 286 grain PPU. Shot like a dream, function was excellent. I am really considering keeping this strictly open sights for use as my dog walking, and hiking rifle. I was pounding 3 of my 10" steel plates as fast as I could work the bolt just doing some grizzly bear drills at about 18 yards.

I think I'm going to love this rifle....

Hopefully I'll have some time to get serious and see what I can do on paper. Today was just familiarization and fun. :)

One owner is reporting shooting 18 inches low with iron sights!? Has anyone else tried their set of irons yet?

I’m not irritated at the dealers who mark them up, or even the people that buy them and relist them for a higher price.

Lipseys is irritating for their irregular sales. Number one I know I’ll never get one, my volume is nowhere near the level needed to get one.

But it seems they’re making tiny numbers of stuff people want, while flooding the market with others. 250 each of the .275 rigby. 250 of the 9.3x62 African. 250 of the 6.5x55.

Though not as popular of a caliber I KNOW they had to have produced over 500 each of the .270 and .35 Whelen Africans.
How/why is that irritating? It’s no different than other allocations on limited production products; bourbon, cars, certain sneakers, etc.

You have the ability to increase your volume to the level required to get one, you’re the only one preventing it from happening.

I’m irritated more with the buyers who pay over msrp for unspectacular products, as their giving that money to the clowns who are reselling it is, in turn, driving up the prices on everything else for everyone else.

I have attempted a 25/100 yard zero for my 9.3x62. It is dead on with regard to windage and 3" low with Geco 255gr ammo. Ballistic tables indicate it should be .25" high at 25 yards for a 100 yard zero. When I called Ruger for a shorter front sight blade, their work from home, incompetent service guy parroted "we can only send you a replacement blade that is the same size as the one on the rifle". Or, of course, they will send you a pick-up label to send it back to them and they will fix it - after I run the risk of having it stolen, or it being smashed going to Ruger and coming back. No, thanks! I will put int the NECG replacement front site blade when it comes in from Midway 12DEC25. I don't think it is too much to expect a rifle with an MSRP of $1,640 to be better regulated, and to not have a John Deer repair approach when it comes to a front sight blade!

Are you set on that load or have you tried a few? I am wondering how a standard 286gr load would regulate?

I am not set on that load at all, it was simply the only ammo I had to shoot the new "Precious"!

I would have to figure that a "regular/286gr load" would strike even lower than 3", hence my dissatisfaction with the results thus far.

That Geco stuff should run a little hotter than some other factory brands. That has been my experience with their 6.5x55 156gr and 9.3x62 286gr.

@vpsalin - See below, or send over an email to Morris the owner of Alaskan Arms, he's a really nice and helpful man.

Picked mine up Tuesday of this week. The rifle is a beauty. People at the gun store were going Gaga over it. It matches all my Ruger #1s M77 Compact and the Marlin 44 mag.

Sir, I think I have been writing to you about the purchase of the HK 639 rifle under an email "Tt Jake." If this is you, then I am truly interested. I am just trying to verify identify. Tt Jake is asking for a cash transaction. No disrespect intended, Just trying to verify who I am talking to. Thank you. Respectfully. Dan

Hey my friend, I am returning to SA for a Cape Buffalo hunt in June 26. My outfitter has suggested Highveld but I have read some poor reports. Wondering how satisfied you were with your mounts from them? Thanks in advance.
Finally back to somewhat normal I missed reading the messages and posts
