New Binos And Range Finder????

@Colorado Luckydog, as some have already suggested, you might want to consider rangefinder binos. I currently use Swarovski EL RF binos w/ TA and am very happy with it. You should be able to find gen 1 well within your budget but the latest generation in mid to upper 2K. I think there isn't a whole lot of optics quality differences between the Gen 1 vs. 2.

I carry a Vortex rangefinder bino. I am not a very accomplished sportsman, but for me they do what I need them to. My dad has borrowed them and determined they were too heavy for extensive glassing, so he prefers to carry a lighter set of regular binos with a separate rangefinder unit in a pouch on the side. I figure that by the time I acquire a target in my binos, then try to drop them and switch to my rangefinder and acquire the target again to range it, it will take half the afternoon and I will miss my opportunity. If I had a better game eye it might be different, but for me I typically spot it, get a general range using the built-in rangefinder, and then plan my approach.

I have no idea the shipping cost from here to Costa Rica. I can do my research on shipping and get back with you later today.

I didn't see your request re: ship co’s. My last shipment was 2023. Quotes from SBS Logistics ($1,198), Badger Cargo ($1,184 - used them) & AHG Trophy Shippers ($1,746). AHG owner's an asshole so wouldn't have used him anyway. Eastern Cape - Houston, TX, so your mileage may vary. NEVER use Karl Human Taxidermy aka Wild Africa Taxidermy on Eastern Cape. Trophies arrived shattered with no padding/packing material.
