I owe Bill C a big thanks for helping book my third safari. He told me to hunt with Eintracht Safari’s in Namibia, who is owned and ran by Pieter Delport. I hunted with Pieter’s son, Dani Delport. I got every animal I was after and had a great experience.

I landed down in Namibia around 8:30 and Dani met me at the airport. After about a 45 minute drive to camp we arrived at a nice lodge. Dani had me shoot the 300 win mag I would be using for this hunt after we had a nap and some coffee.

Dani said that we would be hunting his 50,000 acre ranch that evening which is were the lodge was at. Barely away from the lodge and we see a very old gemsbok bill and Dani asked me to take it free of charge for camp meat. Of course I agreed. After about an 800 yard stalk I had my first animal down of the hunt.

That was all for the first day and we headed back to the lodge with the sun setting to enjoy a great meal and fire.

The next day we wake up to chase Gemsbok and seen 100s. But I was picky and with light fading we seen a Bull that was 40 plus inches. We made a stalk but ran out of daylight. That Bull sent me on a days long journey to try and get. Spoiler alert, we did stalk him a couple of
More times but didn’t get him.

However we drove about 20
Minutes from the lodge and hunted a farm that I believe was 22,000 acres for Eland. We found some very fresh tracks and followed them for a little over 5 miles. The herd stopped to feed and I was on the sticks for about 15 minutes waiting on this bull to step out of the thicket it was in. I made my shot count and my Eland fell insight of us.

Glad you had a good hunt with Pieter Delport. I have hunted with him twice with zero complaints.

I had also taken a good steenbok the day before I took my Eland. After the Eland my list was Gemsbok, springbok and Burchell Zebra.

We made a few stalks on the zebra and to be honest I missed a stallion at about 250 yards. Not sure if I pulled the trigger or hit a branch. But we did see a nice springbok and made a stalk. After about a 500 yard stalk that consisted of staying bent over to hide behind the bushes we got within about 150 yards and I took a nice Ram.

I was very happy with him.

We went out the same evening and made a few stalks on zebra and kept getting busted because they were next to the blue wildebeest every time. Finally we found a herd and were able to slip in to about 100 yards and I took a nice stallion.

All that was left now was my Gemsbok. We decided to stop chasing the Bull we seen that was 40 plus inches and just settle for a nice old Bull. Well actually I did lol, I think Dani wanted that big bull more than me. With light fading on the last day we made a stalk and with the last minute of light I took an old Bull. This ended a very nice safari with lots of walking and a lot of stalks. I don’t fly Africa to shoot from the truck. Maybe when I get old and I can’t stalk I will start doing that and I have no problem with people doing that who are in that same boat, but for now I want to walk. I could have shot that big Gemsbok from the truck but it never even occurred to me or Dani to do so.

This was my third safari and third different outfitter. I would highly recommend Eintracht Jagd Safaris. A lot of animals, nice lodge and good food. I don’t think anyone would be disappointed with them.

Good morning John, I just read your setup procedure for the northstar duplicator ator. I found it very hand and I did learn some things. I have the same machine and I am having a problem i can not figure out and was hoping you could shed some light on the subject.
