I just brought this home. It’s a 1963 JC Higgins model 45 (Marlin 336) in 30-30, unfired with original box. I’m having the shoot it or don’t shoot it debate with myself. I’m positive that shoot it will win. Perhaps a black bear should be in its future!

Sweet find man! Congrats on the new addition!

Good find. Enjoy it.

Were you looking for this, or did you run across it by accident?

I recently found the perfect compliment for that rifle while looking through the old stock of a local hardware/feed store

You got lucky didn't you? My 3Marlin 336 is in 35 Remington. After a number of years I put a Williams 94-36 Receiver / Peep sight on it. Then I had to install a taller front sight. I could shoot the gun a lot more accurately after those changes.

Where did you find this?

Where did you find this?

Gunbroker of all places. I happened to be browsing minutes after it was posted. Had some quick communication with the seller and hit buy it now.

That would probably explain the j.c. Higgins pump shotgun in that old hardware store and my subsequent failure to find any information.

Do you by chance know if j.c. Higgins was a department store brand?

It's a shooter, take it out and have some fun. There isn't much collector value in it

I have a old Marlin Glenfield 30A 30-30 that is fun to shoot. I only bought it to see if I could rechamber it to a wildcat .357 Herrett but never got around to it.

Out of curiosity who was Higgins? apart from the obvious John hillerman character on magnum PI

I actually scored on that find , there was a hundred round box of 25-20 Winchester. If any of them will fire it will be the first time I get to discharge my late grandfathers rifle.

Those boxes look brand new. They must of been stored out of the sun.

Information on the web says that he was a Sears employee. Someone decided to name their sporting goods line after him. I don’t know if there is any proven info out there.

Good morning. I see that you had a Sauer 202 for sale for $3,000. Did you sell it at that price?
I have one for sale as well. I listed it (on here ) at $3,000 as well. Is the price high, low or right where it should be?

Thanks. Alex. [redacted] in case you want to call me to discuss further. I appreciate your time help and support.

Dave, I could use both of them if still available. I just picked up a new .22 mag and a .22 pump that they would be perfect on.
