My first test on the the new Woodleigh Hydrostatically Stabilised 470 500 Grain Bullet went well as our Aussie friends have said it would.

First test would give a slight edge to the North fork for straightline penetration, but it would be splitting hairs. I would not hesitate to hunt with this bullet.

The nose flattened some and expanded approximately .020.

The "Meplat" was measured using an ink stamp.

As per special request I ran another test with the 450-400 3 1/4".

No hardy board or pine board was used. Just newspaper. The Woodleighs mushroomed perfect and kept most of their weight but penetrated no further in plain newspaper than they did with wood and hardy board.

The Hornady bullets penetrated much deeper but lost weight and had very little mushroom effect.

No more testing until the new chronograh arrives, tired of fighting the old unit.

Mike, thanks so much for posting results on the Woodlieghs. I've been wondering what they'de be like for a while. Living in Aus, the Woodlieghs are available and affordable too. I've contemplated using these new Hydrostatics in my Lott for use on buffalo (in Aus) and your results provide for some confidence in the product. I just wonder how they'd feed in my Cz ?? Thanks again,
PaulT.

Thanks Mike for sharing these results of the Woodleigh on AH.

I am righthanded, so not interested in the rifle, but I have a 375 RUM and 350 gr bullet loading data is very hard to come by. If you could reply with information regarding your loads I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you, Ray Boone, Leavenworth, WA

An excellent AH member right here! I had a fantastic transaction with Hornedfrogbbq (I was the seller). His communication was first rate, payment was extremely fast, and I would have absolutely no reservations at all dealing with him again. Thank you, F!
Here we are, the last day of the show in Denver, it's been a good show but expecting a quiet day today. I will be back for-sure to do this show next year and maybe also do the one in Sacramento California.

On Monday I will be hitting the road driving from Denver and eventually make it down to Atlanta for the flight home.

its going to be a good year!
