Hello, AH.

Wondering if anyone here has real world experience/testing with Berger hunting bullets (Elite Hunter specifically) and ELDX as it relates to minimum expansion velocity.

Any info or input beyond the fps numbers from the manufacturer would be much appreciated!

Thank you!

Most Bergers are said to expand down to 1600 fps or so. I've never used them far enough to get that slow. My thoughts was 1800 fps gives some room for error. Expansion should be fine at that velocity.

Ditto for the ELD-X. It's been written up as expanding as low as 1,600 fps, but I'd add a safety factor to that. As in many things shooting related, a chronograph is your best friend.

The only test media I have available is cow elk, which means I had to wait for test media season to open. I can report good test reports over several seasons.

I saw where you hunted elephant with backcountry safaris in Zimbabwe.
Was looking to book an elephant hunt and wanted to know how your hunt went
and if you would recommend them.

Thanks

hi, do you know about lions hunters, leopard hunters, and crocodiles hunters of years 1930s-1950s
I'm new to Africa Hunting. I would like to purchase a Heym 450-400 double rifle. I'm left-handed but would prefer a non-canted gun. Is anyone in the community considering parting with theirs?
