Mauser 66

@Aaron N,
You can get one from Germany through an importer if you wish, but there are Mauser 66 for sale in Canada all the time. Currently there are 2 up on Gunpost; one a very nice 8x68s Diplomat with engraving, claw mounts and Zeiss scope, the other a 3 barrel set. There is also one at Ellwood Epps incorrectly labeled as a Mauser 2000 that is expensive, but has nice engraving, wood and a Swaro scope. Check Prophet River Firearms and others as well.

I’m curious as to European pricing, as someone in Canada has a diplomat for sale in 8x68 for $4000
You beat me to it.

Real „Diplomat“ are rare, the average e-auction price varies around 3k€.

If you are lucky you can purchase a good engraved M66 for less than thousand €.
The young hunters are looking for plastic stock and tactical style, while ignoring good old quality…. This results in lower prices.

Surplus GNG also has a pair for sale; one in 7x64 and one in 30-06.

Nice setups !
Is the magazine long enough to accomodate such very long cartridges or you must use them as single shot ?
There are two sizes of actions, a standard with 85 mm magazine length and the long action with 95 mm lenght.
It accomodates 2+1 cases with the Rigby cartridges (or big Weatherbys or Lapua Mag.).

The Keidler Waffen webpage hasn’t been up for a while now, real shame if master gun maker Ralf Keidler has retired.
Here is his list showing the Mauser 66 bolt face groups. I think it is the most complete that I have been able to find.
Love that group 3!

I will be looking for a set of these when my .505 is done... sadly not cashed up right now for these. :(
Need anything in trade?
Cheers,

what kind of velocity does the 140 grains list, curious how they would fit in with my current 130 gr, supply of 270s. maybe a pic of the box data listing vel. and drop. Oh and complements on that ammo belt, nice.
