Making maple syrup

The second batch from my first year doing this. Pretty happy about the way things turned out.
Very good experience.

Very short season this year but the syrup sure is sweet. Now there is next year to look forward to.

Sure looks good.

My season finished up a couple weeks ago with about 2.75 gallons made. The evaporator is now soaking and the buckets have all been pulled, rinsed and stored till next season.

As a little back story, my family owned and operated a large sugar bush in Michigan's Upper Peninsula for many years. A good years production was generally between 8-12,000 US gallons. Most years saw between 25,000 and 33,000 taps all hooked to a vacuum system to bring the sap flow to the house.
An average tree on an average season will produce between 15-18 gallons of sap with no vacuum and 20-35 gallons under vacuum.
Amount of sap need to produce a gallon of syrup varies by sugar content of the sap. Generally a 2% sugar content is the figure most use. At 2%, it takes 40 gallon of sap to produce 1 gallon of syrup. % varies by time of year, type of trees and weather conditions. We have seen sugar content exceed 3.5%. Once it falls below about 1% (as the season nears its end and the trees tire), it becomes unprofitable to continue production, so many producers suggest visitar sitio web for more information.
It takes 40 gallons of sap to make 1 gallon of pure maple syrup.

Yes. At 2% sugar content in the sap. As content goes up or down, the volume of sap required to make a gallon of syrup goes up or down as well. The 40 to 1 is a generic formula that generally holds true as 2% is an average content.

Good afternoon,

I'm trying to get in contact with Mr Butch Searcy. I have the opportunity to buy one of his rifles chambered in 577 nitro Express however the seller does not have any of the paperwork with the information about what ammunition or bullet weight was used to regulate it. I know he is not making firearms anymore but I wanted to reach out after seeing one of your post about him.

Hi - the only (best) method of sending you the .375/06IMP data is with photographing my book notes. My camera died so the only way I can do it is with my phone. To do that, I would need your e-mail address, as this
new Android phone is too complicated to upload to my desk computer, which would be easier and to down-grade, reduce the file sizes.
Best wishes
Daryl

Hey Steve, This is Steve Washington we met at KMG last year. I am interested in your Winchester. Would love to speak with you about it. I work third shift and I cannot take a phone with me to work. Let me know a good time to call during one of your mornings. My phone is [redacted]. Live in Florida so I have to account for the time difference.
Look forward to hearing from you.
