Luxury trains and hunts

Have done two Rovos Rail Journeys as they term them.......most recently in 2019 from Pretoria to VF's, a stay at VF hotel, then on to the Caprivi for a hunt. Our private car, built in 1926 and refurbished nicely certainly evoked a gone by era of train travel. As did the requirement to dress for dinner, 24 hour room service, and continuously open bar car. I ordered a pot of coffee and a gin and tonic each morning at sunrise delivered to the outdoor area and smelled and watched rural Africa slide by. All that was lacking was Denys Finch-Hatton waving down the train to load elephant teeth.....anyway....expensive yes, but I thought it a good value........FWB

I was scheduled to go driven pheasant hunting in Scotland this coming October. My girlfriend and I would spend a few days in London area and then take that overnighter to Edinburgh from London.

Alas, the trip got canceled. Along with the Norway paddleboarding trip that was scheduled at the end of the May this year that got canceled that makes it FIVE international trips that got canceled since April, 2020 due to Covid.

Been to SA several times, I have to travel at least twice a year and it's the highlight of my year. I have always wanted to visit Greece as i hear its very beautiful... Don't know about hunting there though but it's next on my bucket list as much as traveling is concerned.

Just take a shotgun along on your big game
Hunts. I’ve had some awesome wing shooting once the buff is in the salt.

Krieghoff Drilling, 9,3x74R, 12ga, 12 ga...... the right answer in any language....

Here's a photo of Tony receiving that Shaw & Hunter award at the 1970 annual EAPHA Dinner Dance. Tony Dyer, then EAPHA President and Princess (Sunny) von Auersperg presented it. I also attended the event.

Good Afternoon,
How firm are you on your Dakota 416? I am highly interested but looking at a few different guns currently.

Best,
BJ
