Close. phyllite with muscovite and biotite, and semischist, a slightly metamorphosed sedimentary rock

What mountain range or peaks

What mountain range? Now that’s pushing it :)

I picked up about 5 pounds worth of them on the Everest yellow band.
Well done. That’s out there! The sedimentary origin would throw off anyone not familiar with the historic geology of the region. :)

here is something I picked up at a local show recently. Any guesses? No real prizes, sorry.

Cool! My first impression is ceremonial war clubs. Beyond that- no clue

One of my daughter’s good friends is from Nepal. And a friend here in the coffee clatch did a couple of climbs back in the day… 70s. That’s about as close to that part of the world as I’ve been. He reports, emphatically, “Do not partake in the customary pizza “dinner” nor the fermented yak spirits upon return to Katmandu after a climb!” :):)

:) :) When in doubt guess Figian…
If they are legit originals.. cool stuff

Yes, four five eight and altitude sickness are correct. They are a mix of Polynesian and Samoan war clubs circa 1880-1920's. You can see the effort, ink in engraving, white pigments in others and sea shell fragments inlaid for color. You guys just won another 5 days of cold weather!

More or less obvious what this is. The question is where?
Actually, fairly common :) I couldn't pass up the opportunity to snap a pic

thanks for your reply bob , is it feasible to build a 444 on a P14/M17 , or is the no4 enfield easier to build? i know where i can buy a lothar walther barrel in 44, 1-38 twist , but i think with a barrel crown of .650" the profile is too light .
