Leopard Attack

BTW, no one lists Leopard trophy fees on their website, insteading noting to call for price. Could you tell me from your experience what the price range normally is for a leopard? I know I've sometimes seen lions listed anywhere from a low as $9,000 for a lioness to more than $25,000 for a male lion. So, there's a pretty good gap there. Do you have a general range you've seen for leopards? Just curious.

Oh! And one last question. Where are YOU located? Are you in South Africa as well?

It is true that a lot of outfitters list their Leopard trophy fee as P.O.R. however some do publish the trophy fee on their website's price list. The price range would have to be determined by country between all outfitters offering Leopard, a task that I have not undertaken... I have seen Leopard trophy fees as low as US$2,500, however the trophy fee is not what determines the cost of the entire hunt, one needs to include, if applicable, other expenses such as daily rates, number of hunting days (usually a minimum is set by the outfitter), trophy fees of other species, Leopard quota tags or special permit charges, concession fees, charter flight, pre-baiting, baiting during hunt, hounds' team, dip/pack, trophy shipment. The success rate for Leopard hunting should also be carefully considered when choosing an outfitter. I would say that the beginning price point for a Leopard hunt with a reputable outfitter who is knowledgeable and experienced in conducting Leopard hunts with a good success rate and in a good area for Leopard would be around US$13,000, all inclusive except for airfare, dip/pack, taxidermy, trophy shipment. To answer your question I am in Southern California!

Ah. Very informative, and all makes sense. Where in California? I was based out of NAS Miramar (when it was still a naval air station) from 1988-1990, assigned to VF-1 WOLFPACK. We deployed on the USS RANGER. "Ranger Danger" is now razor blades, and the F-14 fleet has been decommissioned and laid up in the desert at Davis-Mathan AFB.

BTW, Philippe is French, yes? Are you American born or did you come over at some point?

Jerome,

Helluva gusty Tom ,taken well with 4 shots , tremendous footage & lucky hunters . Were the 12 gauge buck shots (LGs or SGs) used on him ???

Monish, A Namibian PH sent me this video, I do not have any information pertaining to this hunt!

Wow! Thanks for putting this video up Jerome. It seems that everyone in the vehicle lucked out that the leopard didn't like the feel of the vehicle or something. Imagine trying to deal with one of those inside a vehicle.

bwanawannabe, Here is for a Leopard half way in the cabin of the truck!

That has to be that rangers worst day of work ever. It looked like the cats weight maybe pulled down the window further and prevented him from rolling it back up.

An excellent AH member right here! I had a fantastic transaction with Hornedfrogbbq (I was the seller). His communication was first rate, payment was extremely fast, and I would have absolutely no reservations at all dealing with him again. Thank you, F!
Here we are, the last day of the show in Denver, it's been a good show but expecting a quiet day today. I will be back for-sure to do this show next year and maybe also do the one in Sacramento California.

On Monday I will be hitting the road driving from Denver and eventually make it down to Atlanta for the flight home.

its going to be a good year!

Hi Rem280, Saw your post on getting selected for Idaho Elk. Do you have a zone(s) selected? I live in N Idaho, might be able to offer some ideas.

Cheers,

Craig
