Very nice trophy with simmetrical tusks.

Andy, beautiful trophy!!!!!

Thank you. I was pretty happy when I got to him. New he had a decent set of fangs when I shot but better than I hoped for.

These are the two my 14 year old twins got in Limpopo last month hunting with Africa Motsomi Hunting Adventures.

Hey together [emoji1309]
How would you judge my warthog? It doesn’t have long teeth but in my opinion it’s an older one with worn down teeth?
The front teeth are also worn down, but since it’s my first one I can’t compare it [emoji28]

TOM, I wish I could tell you but it was well over 20 years ago and I don't remember that detail. Maybe if I were the shooter I would remember, though I do know that he used a 300 Weatherby.
What rifle do you recommend for warthogs? They seem smaller than the European species.

Age can also be determind by the size of the warts and thickness of the tusks. You will never miss spotting a good one...
You can expect 3 to 4 inches of tusk inside the gum line

The one you have in your hands at the time.....

When I was in RSA, I visited someone who had one warthog with 17” tusks and one with 16” hanging on his wall. That was like seeing a pair of 100 lb elephants.

I’m not much for pigs, but those could convert anyone.

Arild, I am sure that the children in the neighborhood have lots of stories to tell about the man on their street who shot Pumba's grand father .

I have seen this kind of damage several times on different kinds game but always when the bullet placement is in rear, I call it the "popcorn" effect. I think it happens when the bullet tunnels under the dense muscle flesh and forces it upward in an eruption... I have a difficult time explaining it though the picture shows it well.

It's great that you took that picture, we often don't think about taking pictures of these unusual kind of things that happen, but it's interesting to see and talk about.
Isn't that a Texas heart shot?.

Too high.....

Hey my friend, I am returning to SA for a Cape Buffalo hunt in June 26. My outfitter has suggested Highveld but I have read some poor reports. Wondering how satisfied you were with your mounts from them? Thanks in advance.
Finally back to somewhat normal I missed reading the messages and posts

Hi PaulB,
I have a Ballard Arms Model 1885 chambered for .333 Jeffery Flanged. Do you have any idea where I can get ammo for this?

I am new to this forum so I am sorry if I am doing something wrong!
Thank You!
