Just got my mount back from the taxidermist. Went on a coues deer hunt this year and had opportunities but those deer are difficult with a bow. Did manage to get a javelina. Will probably never hunt them again, but they do make a nice mount

Very nice and congrats! Thanks for sharing

I have been hunting those little buggers for over 25 years now driving from Colorado to Arizona to do it. It is one of the funnest and hardest and frustrating hunts all at the same time.

A lot of the fun part is how you do it. If you sit over bait it can just be a shoot them type of hunt but if you go for a spot and stalk hunt it can become quite interesting.

I agree. Mine was spot and stalk. Did not enjoy the meat and they smell terrible. However, it was a really fun hunt

If you shoot a old boar they can be quite rank. In all the time that two of us have been hunting them we have come up with only a couple that we were not able to eat.

I usually slow smoke them over mesquite wood and the meat turns out fantastic. We have also ground it up for jerky which is also quite good.

Unfortunately, if you want to eat one, you need to shoot a very young one. And then still not real tasty. You have to be very careful with the gland on their back, break it and the animal is done. This year I have a group of 30, that are wiping out my feeder.

Also, if you get a baby one, it will tame down just like a dog, but you can't do that anymore now that they are a game animal.

You might have edited your post on the PH in the Bubye. I know the PH and is a wonderful person and a fmaily man and runs a succesful business in Zim and just doesn't want the attention that the internet offers, the ugly kind.

Hello,

Am I reading your post correctly to say that the Tsavo rifle will be coming out with a composite stock later this year? I ask because I had been looking very hard for a Tsavo, but if there is going to be a composite stock model I will wait for that.

Thank you for your time,

Andrew

Saw your post. Nice. Denver too. Genesee area (just off 70) if ever up this way. Alternatively, do you have a membership at GGC? Whatever, you'll have a wonderful time in Africa. Enjoy.
