Ivan Carter And Elephant Charges

I personally met Ivan leaving the Maun, Botswana on the 24th of this month. I think he said it was his last elephant hunt there. A nicer gentleman I have not met. He was down to earth and friendly and took the time to talk to me. I was also leaving Botswana from my first Africa plains game hunt. He said with Botswana closing and other areas it was especially important that all hunters practice fair chase and prioritize ethics. Much of the public has the wrong impression on hunting and it is up to us. I consider meeting him in Maun and talking again a little bit in the airport in Joberg the icing on the cake to an already fantastic time I had in Africa. This is the kind of man we need carrying the torch for hunting.

Highly experienced PH and conservationist. He is an elephant expert. Only issue I have is he is sometimes a bit too relaxed when close in...someday standing a couple yards away with a double still in the african carry may go wrong.....by all means get in close and then 10 yards closer but be ready....complacency and over confidence can get you in trouble...

Here's the target for the NorthForks - 25yds off a bag, iron sights. Hunting leopards over dogs the range won't be more than that.

Flew in an airshow in Smyrna years ago, beautiful country.

Best regards,

Franco
