Is 5-6 days hunting enough time?

Figure one day travel each way, the rest is hunting. Depending on your game package, you can expect at least one animal almost every day, possibly two animals at least once. Look at the trophy fees for the animals you want to hunt and go from there. Unless you're hunting Leopard, five to six days will be plenty.

Seven days would be my absolute minimum. Nine or ten is about right for a PG hunt. Ten and more for buffalo. Any baited hunt: at least 14 days.
I did a 14 day for buff and PG and probably would have done well with a 12 day, but I did spend a couple of afternoons bass and tilapia fishing. That was fun, having waterbuck watch me fish and seeing lion tracks in the mud.
Did a ten day PG hunt and by the last day was just looking to shoot something for sake of it. Took the last afternoon off and started packing.

When I had tagged out at the end of day 4 of an 8 day hunt, my 1st thought was "What the Hell am I going to do now?" I even considered going home early. That would have been a huge mistake. Africa is such a magical gem of a place to visit and there is so much to see and do. Once you are there, you will want more time and no matter how long you stay, you will not want to leave.
