In memoriam - "Deadeye" has fired his last shot

Very sorry for your loss. The photo shows even at 89 he was a forward looking person who was planning on another day afield. Good for him !

The Picture itself is a wonderful tribute to your Father.

God Bless him! 89yo and still looking forward to getting out and hunting

I hope that I am lucky enough to go out the same way!

Prayers and sincere condolences to your family. Some of my hunting crew is hitting thier 80s and I'm starting to realize that there may not be many more winters left for us. A salute to your father and to the rest of the AH community for carrying the tradition and passing it down!

Love the Woolrich. Tomorrow's opener won't be cold enough for that but I looked at Dad's yesterday and remembered fondly my first set so I could could look just like him. Enjoy every minute and story!!!

That pic of your Dad's bench and gear, ready to go, made my eyes wet.

And then I thought how wonderful it was that he was getting ready to go after it, right until the bitter end.

What a blessing to die with your boots on, so to speak!

I pray your entire family finds peace in his passing, and can honor his memory by staying the course set before you. Just as he did.

Tim

Condolences to you and your family.

Thanks again for all the prayers and kind words. Didn't fire a shot this rifle season. I figure Dad decided if he couldn't go, we shouldn't have all the fun!

thanks for your reply bob , is it feasible to build a 444 on a P14/M17 , or is the no4 enfield easier to build? i know where i can buy a lothar walther barrel in 44, 1-38 twist , but i think with a barrel crown of .650" the profile is too light .
