Does anyone have a contact / importer who brings in guns from Germany? I've seen something I quite like but need to work out how to get the gun imported into the US.

Many thanks.

Pretty sure Steve Bertram (Bertram & Co.) imports from continental Europe.
He's brought in a lot from England for sure.

I know Steve Bertram imports from the U.K., not sure about the continent.

Ha! Looks like we were thinking along the same lines, Huvius.

Lots of ifs.

The person has to be willing to sell it to you in a foreign transaction. This is not super common outside a limited number of people.

If it is at a big dealer like Frankonia it won't happen, they don't care.

I am in Germany I can help you with the German exporter, as he lives 40 miles from me. The American import side is the harder thing.

I don't know what he charges for an export, last time I asked I think it was 500 Euros for the first piece and 100 Euros for each piece after that.

There will be things that German dealers and inviduals do not want to export. Things that are hard to find, like old British guns, Mustgraves, and some German made modern safari rifles that aren't commonly available will be more of a challenge.

Could you elaborate a bit further on this? If there is a willing seller and a willing buyer?

https://www.egun.de/market/item.php?id=19976738. This Frankonia military Mauser conversion would not be able to be imported into the USA as it likely has a military background.

You would be stuck.

I have also known people that have bought things here, and not gone through the proper channels or had a bad actor dealer and it never got shipped.

This one maybe might be helpful. Ramstein air base is not very far. Between Germany and France it is very helpful, but I don't know about the USA.

Contact him, I suppose they speak englisch.

I have been using a "Personal Property" rider on my State Farm homeowner's policy to cover guns when I travel with them.
I have several firearms, but only one is worth over $20K (A Heym double rifle).
Very interested.
Would firearms be covered for damage, as well as, complete loss?
I'll can let the State Farm rider cover my watches...

trperk1, I bought the Kimber Caprivi 375 back in an earlier post. You attached a target with an impressive three rounds touching 100 yards. I took the 2x10 VX5 off and put a VX6 HD Gen 2 1x6x24 Duplex Firedot on the rifle. It's definitely a shooter curious what loads you used for the group. Loving this rifle so fun to shoot. Africa 2026 Mozambique. Buff and PG. Any info appreciated.
