"I Want A Heym"

If I was to start a "I want or wish thread", it would be a Heym 89B in .470 and a Heym Martini in .404J, end of list!

I’m going to see if I can shoot my outfitter’s Heym 88 in 470NE when I am in RSA later this year. He offered it for rent although I’ll probably rent his 375, but I still want to try the Heym.

If you want one, just send them a deposit and get the ball rolling.

"I want a buffalo hunt for my Heym that in on its way". That and a steak and kidney pie for my lunch today and I will be in heaven
Kevin, have you received any correspondence, "eta, Photos", on your Heym? Forgive me if I already asked, 89B in 450/400 if I'm not mistaken?

anyhow, looking forward to seeing it, if you care to share when it arrives!!!

50% deposit is all that’s required. 6-7 months before it arrives so you have that time to save!
That's not bad. In retrospect, given the cost of expensive learning curves with other manufactures, researching, etc. .. There could have been a Heym already delivered. I just wasn't sure we'd see another year given current affairs, employment stability, etc.!?! But on a positive note, I'd really like to visit Heym & and their team in Texas...

... But on a positive note, I'd really like to visit Heym & and their team in Texas...

Their "team" is Chris Sells. He is the distributor that "sells" Heym in the USA. A very nice guy, he will take your measurements, advice on calibers, let you shoot various calibers etc.. Contact him at https://www.heymusa.com/

Mine has landed in Dallas and awaiting customs clearance. It should be at my FFL next week, a bit less than 6 months after ordering. Without Covid delays I would have had it in my hands last month.

I would as well. I’ve spoken to Chris several times and he’s graciously offered the opportunity to fire and handle several rifles before I purchase. Just haven’t had time to make arrangements.

That's a good time frame, given the circumstances!. And Thank you, as I've been in contact with Mr. Sells over the past year. He's been a great help & a wealth of information.

Congrat's on your new Heym, Very cool!

I have a left handed 88PH Heym 500NE. In 24 days I will be boarding Emirates to fly to Jborg for my first trip to Africa. Can't wait to shoot my first Buffalo with my Heym Double Rifle.

Nothing yet Daniel, it has just been a month so far. Yes, an 89b in 450/400, coin finish, grade 3 wood. In other words the PH model. For sure I will share everything as soon as I get it, I find thes buzz around folks getting their doubles really enjoyable. New or used, it is a real pleasure.

Likewise Sir! The Polished/coined is my personal favorite & Heym does it well indeed.
The anticipation of the wait's half the fun!

My currant two doubles are a Heym 88B in 500 nitro and a Chapuis in 470 nitro. I’m hoping to add a new 89B in 450/400 soon. Debating on if I go with the lighter frame and scope it with a low power optic or go with the normal size frame and run another RMR on it like my 500 has.
The Chapuis is a right handed gun a bit short for me the Heym on the other hand is fit perfectly to me.
If your buying new Chris or Doc will do you up right and fit you up with a new 89b

UKH, I was pretty much set on the Light frame, but in 375 Flanged, not 450/400. They make the Light in 450/400 as you know, but running the felt recoil calculator numbers, it would have been too much for me, especially the recoil velocity. Then i got to handle the 89b 450/400 in the Africa frame, 4.5kg. I am neither young nor strong, but it was a breeze, the balance and feel were just perfect. And for me anyway the fit was perfect too, so it pointed beautifully. I also tried an identical one they had, but with a Docter Noblex red dot on it. I really prefer the open sights though.

Love your rifle! I'm needing a heavier rifle for Africa. Sold my .375 Dakota Safari several trips ago. Would you have any interest in a trade of some sort involving the custom 338/06 I have listed here on the site ( I have some room on my asking price. I also have a large quantity of the reloading components and new Redding dies as well as a box of A-Square Dead Tough ammo.
